Texted me my bank balance. Scary [***].

I just received a text with my bank balance from this number but have no idea who it is or how they got that information. My bank doesn't do text alerts.

Same. I am getting text messages with my account balance, and sometimes it is accurate, other times it is not. Either way, I have no clue who this is. I have given no third party apps access to my banking info either!

Received the following text message Your balance is now safe at $333.12.

You can't guarantee "this is not a scammer number" since scammers spoof legitimate phone numbers all the time. You should never trust a random caller to be who they claim and you should never give them personal information of any sort. Instead, hang up and call a known phone number for whomever they're closing to be, such as the one on the back of your card.
