Got text saying,  (Notice the verbage, punctuation or lack thereof!)
"Hello how are you today..? i (lowercase loser!) got your cell # from the ad you posted on craigslist (missing punctuation) so are you still looking for job..? ( foreigner obviously!) Get back to me Asap"
Obviously a foreign scammer.  I replied to the text "Call me only!"
Have not heard from this person afterward.

I posted something on craigslist. this number says they sent a check. also, a tracking number wtih usps.com, which appeared lagit. I'm getting the impression that it is a scam. Ive had numerous numbers from utah and idaho that have turned out to be scams, they say they are trying to send something to family or friends in a different country, and that they will pay for the extra shipping. typically around $100. I've mentioned something small about scams and I never hear from them again. so be on the lookout. they are good at waht they do.

I recieved a text saying: "hello. are you still looking for job?" (sad grammar). I replied back with "yes" because i actually am looking for a side job as a babysitter. I figured it was someone not in my area. Then they responded with "A vacant postition is opened for employment....blah blah blah..." and started asking me if i have a printer, scanner, and computer. I replied to him and said "the only way i will have the rest of this converstaion is perfessionally over the phone." they responded with " i do ear impaired" I think this may be a scam too...

I don't know if they can do anything,  but my Boss's brother is the sherrif in our county, and they have a 'federal' liason officer to coordinate law enforcement which extends outside local jurisdiction. I'm giving their bogus check, numbers, printing copies of texts,  and writing a statement of all this deal and giving to them....we must all try abc get scammers behind bars!!!

    Scam.
I tried to sell something on Craigslist for $200. They said they wanted it. They sent me a check for $3600.00!!! Now they want me to cash it and send the "remainder" via Money Gram to them. (Of course, then the check is found to be a fraud and I am stuck repaying $3600 to my bank.
Buyer had one address, the check was from a bank in Texas with a different address and was addressed from an additional address in California.

They will want you to wire (Western Union) or buy a money card at Wal-Mart, etc. and send the overpayment to them.  The check will be no good and you will be out the money you sent the scammer.  Do not cash the check or contact them.  If it came by mail, contact your local postmaster!!

    This number is totally bogus,
they did the same thing to me, sent me a text asking if I was still selling my music software, said they'd pay an extra 35$ in shipping fees,
and three days later I received a check in the mail for almost three times the amount expected. Definitely would not cash that!
This is a total scam, they have sent the same email for another item I was trying to sell in craigslist, they are not fooling anyone.

This guy responded to an ad I had on Craigslist for a camera I had on there for $15. He sent me a check for over $1000! and said to send the remaining via Walmart Wire transfer to an address in NC or somewhere because someone was coming to pick the item up. The check said to contact this number for further instruction. I did nothing with the check, and emailed him saying I can send the check back or destroy it. No reply for a couple weeks. Then tried to say he was going to get the FBI and IC3 involved because I "want to run away with his hard earned money". The name he is using in the email is Jeff Hero. Like others, multiple addresses from multiple states were used. I called him out on it, still no reply.

I've been getting emails from a scammer because I posted on Craigslist (I already reported their email to FTC and Atty. Gen'ls office).  They want to send an overpayment for professional lessons for the daughter.  They use Bible verses at the end of the email but their English is very poor.  When I figured out they are scam when they mentioned "overpayment" I wrote and said "no deal".  They are still trying, now with a text from this number.  I did not respond to this text.  (Last year I got caught in a similar overpayment scam that cost me $5,000 from depositing their fraudulent check.  It was on a good bank, but it was a fraudulent copy of a certified check on that bank.  I called the bank and they had many incidences of this.)  The scammer's email name (I'm sure fictitious) was Isabella Gary and email is isabella2nt@gmail.com.  I hope they get caught some day and I get my money back.  They also waste time!
