This call came in on my parents line this morning.  Made them very nervous because it talked about Con Ed.  My parents are up in years and thought something was wrong.  I came and listened to the message.  After listening to the message on their machine, I said I will check this out, it sounds like a scam.  I came here looking for a report, I googled the number (many said it was an unsafe number).  I finally called the number and just what I thought...  It turns out they were trying to get my parents to change their electricity supplier.   When I asked the name of her company she told me there are about 30 companies in the area supplying electricity to customers for Con Ed at a reduced price.  I asked again who she worked for I didn't get an answer.  I told her I have asked the same question twice and you refuse to give me an answer, that tells me you are scamming people.  Just like you  did to my old landlord.  "We can save you all this money ..." It ended up costing her $15 more a month.  After 3 months she went back to Con Ed.  I still don't know who this woman worked for, she had no name just an agent #.  It is the first time in years my father was glad he is hard of hearing and did not answer the phone.  The number is now blocked on their phone.

Same experience. The woman I called back sounded as if she was half asleep. She asked me to open my con ed bill. I asked her what company she was with and she would not answer. I humg up.

Just got this call but did not answer.  The caller - a woman - left a message and identified herself as "Mrs. Fletcher".   I laughed out loud.  Who would say something like that?  She said she was calling about my "ConEd supply charges". As soon as I heard this I knew it was bogus and probably another supplier. Blocking this number :)

Just got the same call today as everyone else did with the callers name being Mrs Fletcher so I later returned the call because I thought that they mistakenly called my number when they were trying to reach the actual Con Edison customer. However come to find out they said they wanted to speak with me just to convince me to change my Electric Supplier and I intern said but I am very happy with my supplier and had no intention of changing. This is definitely a new way in my book for scamming someone......everyone should be on guard and be careful!!!!

I also received a call from this number today.  A woman left a message on my answering machine.  She made it sound like she was from ConEd.

Same bogus BS as others.  Isn't this illegal?

Just got. Message from Ms. Fletcher too!!  So glad for these posts!  I googled the number and this came up!

Thanks for the details..just got a call from them.  They left a voicemail and the Caller ID said Spam.

I received a call from the same lady with the same name.  She didn’t sound right. My gut knew something wasn’t right.  I went on line to check the phone number and it took me here.   I hope they find out who this person is

I received the same call - "Hi this is Mrs. Fletcher, I was trying to reach you in regards to an important matter of reviewing the supply charges on your ConEdison electric account. Please return my call at (347) 897-5180, that number again is (347) 897-5180. And have a copy of a recent statement handy for review. Your reference number is ****. I'll speak with you soon."   It is clearly a scam. Do not call them back and report them!!!!!!
