    It is a social security scam. They call to obtain information regarding your personal information so that they can then use it to perform malicious acts with the given information. Do not give in to the initial call that presents itself as an automated system which will then lead you to call them so that an Indian guy can answer. I immediately hung up the phone but I do understand that there are other individuals out there who will become frightened due to such calls and will then become concerned and give out their information to these bozos.
