Is it real?!

NO IT IS NOT REAL!!!!! I just call the number and the guy told me there was a warrant for my arrest!?! and I need to pay 2000.00 dollars in CASH!???!!! My husband told the man off and we reported the same number to the cops.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

We got a call that we owe money to the I R S  they. If we did not take care of this now we would go to jail the amount of 1989.20 what do we do now.

I just received a recorded call that sounded official from the IRS.  I called the number and the person that answered did not even speak good English.  The number originates in Washington not Washington D.C. but I think it is transferred to another country.  They told be I would be put in jail if I didn't pay them $1850.00.  I just hung up on them.  Don't bother to call them - if it was the IRS they would not contact you by phone

I got a call saying that there was a lawsuit out for me. I called them back and it was for another person and I told him three times that they had the wrong number.

I did get the same call and it is a scam the real IRS number is an 800 number.  Thank you for confirming my thoughts.

Received a  call and they said we owed back taxes.. told me if I hung up I would be arrested  1-360-637-4899  I am not usually gullible but they knew ALL my info. made me nervous

Same thing some woman answered then she did not want to talk
