Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Please reply to this post, to let us know you read it, or have taken suitable actions to protect yourself. - D SmithReported that I had committed Tax Fraud. I have not and the IRS does not make calls like this. They ALWAYS send a letter first, not robo dialed call.

- T GJust got a call. Wanted me to pay $1836 that I owe the IRS to keep from having an arrest warrant issued. Threatened to send my information to the local police station. I told them to go ahead an issue a warrant. The person identified himself as Alex and had a very think middle eastern accent.
