I've been getting these calls for over a year on my office phone, sounds like a fax trying to come through. I called the number and it says it's out of service. Has anyone been able to reach someone about this?

I am also receiving numerous fax-type calls which tie up my phone line and answering machine. How do we get it to discontinue? Called the number and was told it is not in service.

Your best bet might be getting a call blocking device and simply block their number.

This phone number keeps calling my phn day after day..It's not service spring in OH...

If anyone is being harrassed at home from caller 401-427-9793..U pick up and it's just a beeping sound I found out who it is.. a company called Paetec Communications, Inc. - Ri at (800) 843-9214..I called and had to fill out form over phn w/ a rep...and I'm complaining to the FCC...They are trying to fax solicitaions..

Yes, we received three "calls" from this number today from a fax machine trying to get through (about 7 mins apart).  Fax machines generally give up after 3 tries but this one then started calling from an unidentified number (still with fax beeps).  I switched the phone lines to see if I can get an actual fax to come through on our actual fax line (instead of our phone line).  I will post again if I am successful.  What a pain in the neck!

When I called the numer it was a recording from an older sounding guy saying, "I'm sorry, this number is not in service anymore."  which is clearly a recording from a number which obviously IS in service.  What a sham!

Yesterday I had four calls from this number-- three from 401 the number and then immediately after one from a "private caller." Very annoying!

just got a call, and then it is followed with a restricted number, on my cell phone, very very annoying.  Any luck.  I'm on hold with the company listed above...I tried the route of a new customer...man for a company trying to get new customers, I've been on hold for about 4 min already...I would NEVER use them.

I finally found the actually company calling and trying to fax people. Thru Paetec Comm and then Windstream Comm and now to company called Level 3 Comm.  Their phn nbr is 501-604-1700 www.Level3.com.

i was able to call the fax number and it allowed me to remove my telephone number, will see if it works;  4014279793
