I got a call from this one and noone was there..... This is the second time now,,,,,

Person identified himself as "Casey" with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (failed to get last name or Post information) soliciting a donation.

As a general rule, veterans' organizations (Legion, VFW, etc) do not condone such activity.

I called the number back and got a legitimate sounding recording for VFW fundraising. Said to contact 1-800-785-4671. I searched the number reverse lookup and it said it came from Columbus NE, which is actually pretty freaking far from Bellevue.

We have gotten calls from this number several times the last few days.  They always ask for my husband, who is not home.  When I ask if they would like to leave a message, they say they, "No, that's okay."  I find it weird that they won't even tell me who they are or what they are calling about so that I could pass that information on to my husband.

No message, hang-ups immediately when my answering machine picks up.
Annoying because they called anywhere from 6 am to 10 pm.

I have been getting calls from this number for three days now. They keep hanging up as soon as I answer.  The caller ID says Columbus NE.  Sounds like odd behavior for a telemarketer.

I keep getting the phone calls and no one is there, so I emailed the Attorney General's office and registered a complaint. I sugjest everyone elese do the same. Just look up Nebraska Attorney General and you can find a spot that says comments and send an email. This might help to stop a scam.

Something with the veterans of foreign wars.

Also received called from this number.  Claim to be VFW of Nebraska.  I asked them to send me information in the mail, as I don't give money over the phone, they flat out refused, got really angry and hung up on me.  But yet, they still call back about once a week (including after 9PM), we go through the same thing every time.  Seems like a scam to me, after all, why would they refuse to send me any information in the mail?  I've asked them probably 4 times not to call, yet they still do.  Have filed complaint w/FCC.

Started getting calls from this number 2 days ago. Weird! Just as with others it hangs up as soon as the machine answers!

I have received several calls from the 402-835-4459 number.  No one ever answers after I repeatedly say hello.

This number is legitamate they are working for the VFW and are working out of 2 call centers at least in the eastern half of Nebraska...but the telemarketers don't seem to have a clue and even call vfw members :-(

Get this call every year and finally know the number so don't answer the phone but they never give up!!! They keep calling and calling and calling. They say they are the Veterans or Injured Soldiers of Foreign Wars or something like that. So tonight the call came again so I answered right away and said I wanted to be put on their do not call list. The guy got very verbal and threatening and I kept repeating to put me on their do not call list. He ended up by yelling at me "thanks for not supporting the men who fought for me in the past." VERY HARASSING - THIS NEEDS TO STOP!
