This number belonged to a scammer who tried to bilk my mother out of $5,000 saying he was with the public defender's office in Jefferson City, MO and that my nephew had been arrested for DUI. They tried the same scam on the other grandparents a year ago. Nobody was in jail and nobody had been arrested. They wanted me to send $5,000 to Surety Bonds out of NY to bail my nephew out of jail. Mr. Berg claims that the bond was $50,000 for DUI and reckless endangerment, that the woman the nephew was in an accident with was pregnant, and that we didn't need to do any internet research on my nephew because we wanted to keep his name out of all public searchable records. (Nonsense - when people are arrested their information becomes public record unless expunged). The "public defender" transferred me over to "Glen Parker" with Surety Bonds to negotiate payment of the bond. I guess I asked one to many questions and they hung up on me in the middle of providing their "direct line".
