They called me.... I didnt recognise the number so I didn't answee. Just wondering who they were....

Just curious who they are and if they want to get ahold of me why don't they leave a message?

If they are a debt collector, then why don't they leave a message? I like many don't answer if I don't recognize the number.

I answered they asked for me like we were friends, I know NO one in Atlanta told them they had the wrong number.

Someone called from this number, I didn't pick up - no msg left.  Obviously not legit.  Don't pick up if you don't know the caller!

One of over 100, that l know of, for lowest muck raking bottom feeder Portfolio Recovery old debt collector. They buy old debt that they try to collect with often questionable methods. I save their numbers in my contacts with a "Z" in front so not in the way. Each contact can have 5 different numbers. I am up to Z 12 Portfolio. Always set ringtone to "no ring" so you never hear it ring when they call again.

Portfolio has well over 500 numbers both real and spoofed.  So, here is what you should do to stop the calls.  You can take the advice or hope you don't run out of room to block their numbers:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

I saw where one of the people that Portfolio is Harrassing with their Unlimited Harrassment Phone Numbers is using an Air Horn to Call them back with. What a great idea. I'm using one Now, Its Awesome using this thing. The yelling & the screaming, Its Awesome! Buy one. Its the best $8.95 I've ever spent. Plus all the entertainment Value.

They've got about 500+ spoofed numbers. Bottom feeding scumbags of bought off debt. After tiring of telling them they had the wrong number, they're now blocked.

I've had this number for almost 15 years--still getting calls for a Scarbro person. That should tell you EVERYTHING about these pieces of $h!+

Got call. No message. Blocked.

Same thing, called & left no message.
I use the True Caller app on my phone. When it rang, it showed up as Spam with
over 600+ reports. Then I added to the block list.

Some people call back and ask for debt validation. After they send it, what should be done? Should an attorney just handle it or can I do this alone?

Always calling harassing from many different numbers asking for someone I've never heard of. This is getting really old. If I tell you, you have the wrong number I would think that would be the end. I guess time to hire a law office to take care of this issue. Love Jerry

Called and asked for a name not at this number. Asked if I knew anyone by that name. No. Told them they were calling a new cell phone in Washington. Said they would update their system. Debt collector.
