yah i spoke to these guys gave them.my lawyers number, then said they called him &  it was a her, plus the office was closed.so they r scamm artists. Then i blocked thrm for calling my number. plus they could not give me a account number just the services was 2005. i asked for a bill couldn't do it.

I received a call today with a message from someone named Calloway with Vandenberg, Chase & Associates in Atlanta. She tried to say she has a "civil complaint filed in her office" and saying it is related to my name, social and drivers license. Also say the is some accusations of erroneous activities with questionable intent. Finally, states there is a pending summons in my county court office but of course, they want the chance for a call from me or my attorney. I searched and found their website, http://www.vcacorp.com/, they are a debt collector telling lies to scare people into calling them.

Yes, and they are now calling my sister-in-law, and of course, she called them back.  They are saying it's from March 2005.  Says they will subpeona her and my brother-in-law... can they do that??  Said they have my drivers license number and my credit cards (which I do not have any).  So now, I guess I have to call them and demand they send me proof in the mail...

they called my home today and yesterday asking , in their message for my son. The man said he was agent so and so and they needed a callback on a case number ......by 7 pm eastern time. Funny thing is my brother is an FBI agent so that is a laugh that they say they are an agent. Just tell them you have a family member in law enforcement and will give that family member their name and number so they can call them to discuss these so called criminal charges....

I got a phone call from this charles guy today. They said i owe money for a loan threw ace. I knew it was ake. How do u stop this

No, they cannot do that.  It is illegal for them to breach your privacy and speak to anyone but you if it is a debt that you owe.  Look into the Fair Debt and Collections practices act.

Keeps calling me at work and all hours

Yeah, they keep calling me.  I told them that the account they are calling on has already been settled in court and I have the papers to prove it...they are scammers that buy old debt, but are too stupid to make sure the debt they are buying is still collectable.  They are hoping on getting people on the phone who don't keep track of bills paid or are just plain scared.  They haven't done one thing right by the Fair Debt Collection Act, I am still waiting for something in writing from them, which by law is required within 5 days of the initial contact.

And they keep saying that they have exhausted all attempts at contacting me...never got anything but voicemails that are garbled and can't understand them.  All attempts would be through the mail as well...I have been told several times by them that I have 48 hours to return the call before their attempts are escalated...it has been 2 months and they haven't done anything but harassed me...they are blocked and until they play by the law, I am not doing anything but ignoring them.  They can't prove I ever got one of those voice mails, cell phones and such mess up all the time.  If it's not certified mail, there is no way to prove I have been contacted and they can take me to court on that...because I will win with all of the violations of the Fair Debt Collection Act...if you don't know about it, read up on it!

Tell them you need a debt validation letter, proof that they own the debt, and account statements showing original balances. Stops them in their tracks. Also, when they say they are bringing a summons and read you your home or work address, tell them you're there now and to come on over-also shuts these [***] up. It's a TOTAL scam-they bought written off debt and are trying to collect and use words like lawyer, fraud, court and summons to scare you.

Ya i keep getting these calls to harrasing me and them telling me it's for a debt that i have no clue about. They call my family and friends too all the time. So i block the number and they still call from a different #, and told my family and friends to block the # too. If they have all this information on me, which i don't even know how they got, then why don't they mail me this info on what this so called debt i have is about??? Not to mention the threats of this so called debt going to court. WTF????
