I got the same thing...i am reporting it to FCC and FBI....they are posing a threat when texting that..Its against the law!!

Jury duty prank reported in Mecklenburg

Court officials in Mecklenburg County are warning the public about a telephone prank being played on local residents involving jury duty.

The prank is not a scam and does not involve money, but it is causing residents to become upset, court officials say.

According to court spokesman Charles Keller, residents have been receiving text messages and emails, saying they have missed their scheduled jury duty dates and could be fined $500 or receive jail sentences of up to 30 days.

The messages contain telephone numbers to call, and when people call the number, they are told that the message is a prank -- but only if they listen to the very end of the recorded message.

“The message received by the caller sounds very convincing, and if the caller does not listen to the entire message, they will not be given the information that it is meant to be a joke,” Keller said.

He said court officials have received a number of phone calls from worried residents.

The prank telephone numbers are 704-319-7259, 704-319-7254, and 704-319-7242.

Keller said telephone scams in the past have been used to get personal information from residents. He said jury management staff never contact residents by phone or email and ask for Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, or other sensitive information.

I got a text from this number saying  to call 404-410-3409 if you don't want to die!!!

I just heard from a friend that he had received this same text message: "call 404-410-3409 if you don't want to die!!!".  Definitely don't call the number.  It's sure to be a prank, at a minimum, or a scam at worst.

Glad to see some are reporting this to the proper authorities!

i got same message as well, called the number cause i never miss a chance to cuss out a telemarketer, but instead i got to listen to a very vulgar message and no telemarketer, the message was about txting and driving, no doubt it was created by some moron liberal whom wasnt thinking that maybe sending this message as a txt could cause someone to check out out while driving, and you dont need to cuss at someone to get the message out, it was nasty and i think i lost a few braincells while listening to that garbage

My dad recieved a text message: Call 404-410-3409 if you dont want to die!!!

I'm calling for driving directions you idiot.

Has anyone called the number? If so, what is it about? I'm suprised not MICHAEL has not responded to this number.

I got the same one from the same number today.

I received a text at 2:15 CST that said "Call 404-410-3409 if you don't want to die!!"  I think a couple of rounds from my .45 might solve this issue, lol.

I received a text message from 95577 saying "if you don't want to die call 404 number. I replied back "if you don't want to die, don't F*****ing call message this number again". Isn't their first message 3rd degree aggravated harassment? I would be arrested if I sent that to someone. I looked up the 95577# and google has it as humor.com or something. Anyway it bs and I am reporting to the police, and writing a letter to the attonery general
