Who is it?

Hung up as soon as I picked up the phone. This is now the 2nd time in as many days.

Solicited money.  Requested literature but caller would not send without a pledge first.

Bad people, solicitors. Don't answer them. Hang up immediately.

Calls and hangs up, twice a day without fail.  Sick to death of them.

I'm with everyone else . . . this party simply does not respect the the "national no call list" and needs to quit it.

They've called the past 2 nights...just called at 8:28pm...  i just don't answer...

Been calling for the past couple of weeks. Usually I do not answer but it is getting annoying.  I have a feeling it is related to one of several police charities in the ATL area

no one was there!

Called at 11:06 this Saturday morning.  They have been calling and I have not been answering.  I decided to answer this time to put a stop to it.  No one was there or they (or the computer) hung up.  Some have said this is a police charity.  I'm not surprised as I give to the GA FOP every year.  But I have already given twice in the last 9 months.  It sure is a shame when these charities make you feel sorry you have contributed.

Called me today morning and told that they are calling from Fulton County , in regards to some complain , message was not clear.

these people are driving me nuts! same company, different charity every other week! is there no way to stop them?

They are driving me mad and there is no way to talk to anyone in this tel number.

Calls every day

I received a phone call from them at 8:50PM on Father's day.  They are collecting money for the Fulton County FOP.  I made a promise a while back to donate some money awhile ago....  and after this call ... from this loser... I will NOT donate ANY money.  He was very rude... This jerk yelled my first name a demeaning tone... not once but three times...

Me:  Hello?
Jerk:  Jenny! ... Jenny?!
Me: May I ask who is calling?
Jerk :  JENNY!!!  THIS IS...

Know this - the "CHARITIES" that call donate maybe 2 cents on the dollar to the FOP or whoever else they claim to be calling for.  They are generally scammers who send just enough to the charity to skirt the law.  

For example according to the web site charitynavigator.org ,  the "Disabled Police Officers of America" have professional fund raising fees of 85.9% and program expenses of 11.4% .  In other words, for every dollar you donate, the charity gets 2.7 cents !  So please folks, don't donate to ANYONE who calls you on the phone.  No matter how legit you think they are, they aren't.  They use names that will trick you into thinking they are one of the reputable and well known charities - but guess what, the reputable ones rarely make such calls.  If nothing else, tell them that you will call back, then get the phone number from the phone book or the web - don't call the one the guy on the phone gives you !  

If you need help finding a legitimate charity that will spend your hard earned money wisely, try using <www.charitynavigator.org> , <www.guidestar.org> , or just google "research charities" .  Charity rocks, but scammers suck.

How To Stop These Calls
1) Contact your State's Attorney's General's Office, Charity Division.
2) Request help dealing with Commercial Fundraiser(s), and Charities harassing you.
3) You will need Both the Commercial Fundraiser's and Charity's contact information, name, address, and phone number. <provided below>
4) Request the AG formally request these charities, do not contact you, and do not sell/trade/transmit your personal information.

Wait 1 month, if they continue to call, contact the AG’s office again, and request further assistance.

If you know the charity’s name and I will post their contact information: Name, address, phone # of both the Commercial Fundraiser(s), and the Charity Associated.
That you will need in order for the AG's office to take action.

I only check these every few months, so feel free to look them up your self.
