- ntreceived a call. Called back on a few separate occasions today. Goes to a loop of a message. Waited for someone to answer, no one ever did. Sure seems like a scam however, as a job seeker, did not want to not respond.
- Caller: Employment Select
- Call type: Event reminder
- eddie spaghetti| 1 replygot this call during my lecture, so of course I could not answer the call
- azcruiserJust got the call. No message left. I've also put my resume online so maybe the same scam.
- dick| 1 replyI got the same crap. Seems sketchy, anyone attempted to call back successfully?
- Caller: ???
- moosie replies to dickMy phone says 49min46sec and the techno loop is still playing. I am letting it play while I do other things. Figured maybe it would connect eventually. I let it go for 17 minutes yesterday. I would say that if it is not a scam, then they may not be too darned interested in the employees they are supposedly screening. Also, with the pushing of online education, there were questions on all of the recruiters and staffing companies for some of the jobs I applied for online, so that seems pretty likely.
- EKDAD replies to me me meI just got a call from this number on my unlisted cell phone... not sure how they got it. I too have been applying for jobs on line, but I don't list my cell number on anything... Hmmmmmmmmm me thinks me smells a rat.
- SDCGot the same call. When I called back was asked to verify some info off my resume that I recently posted online. Said that they were Invert Solutions.
Then I was asked if I wanted to continue my education. Said no and the call was over. Think they are selling online degrees? - KimberlyI just got the call on my cell phone. They said to call the 405 area code number. I need a job as well. I hope I'm not on hold for too long. It's just not right to do that to someone in this economy if it's a scam.
- MandalinI recieved a call this morning from this number but I didnt answer...no voicemail was left.
- jctSame deal here. I got a call on my cell and the recording says they're calling to verify info from my online job application. I immediately remembered applying for an assistant teaching position listed on Craigslist. After sending my resume and a cover letter to the email address listed in the ad, I was sent to a site to continue the application process. I realized they were trying to get me to commit to returning to college and agree to letting them submit my info to their contacts when I read through the user agreement. I didn't proceed with the site and instead wrote to the contact to state that I was interested in a job but not to going back to school and that I hoped that my refusal to participate with site didn't interfere with my chances of landing an assistant teaching position. I didn't hear back from her, but I'm wondering now if this call is in any way related.
- Christy| 1 replyRcvd the same call today with no message. It bothers me that when filling out the online application I was sure to make note that I WAS NOT interested in furthering my education (I knew it would lead to these calls) but they are still coming. It's a shame...
- Joey Ingles| 1 replyThis number is a scam. It's set up to put you on hold and run up your long distance bill. The company gets a cut of the bill.
It's sad that they have started preying of folks out of work in the middle of a recession.
Bloodsuckers. - Elle replies to ChristyI just hung up from this verification specialist. I applied online at career builder for an admissions assistant position. Once I told this specialist that I was not interested in furthering my education the call quickly ended.
- KayeI just received a call from this number. I have put in several job applications to local areas only and since this was not a local area code I did not answer. They did not leave a message. I have noticed on several job sites schools pretending to list job openings that don't exist to get you interested in 'furthering your education' had have gotten a few calls from other companies doing the same thing.
- bbugI jus got a call this morning from this number. I didn't answer but jus called back because they didn't leave a message. I did do a couple of job apps online and remember using a third party type website. If anyone remembers what website this is from please post it here. I def. agree it's a scam to run up phone bill or what not.
- Caller: Not Sure
- MDJI received a telephone call on 12/15/08 and the automated message instructed me to call about a job opening.
- Call type: Unwanted
- Musicman1119 replies to ss| 1 replyI got this message today...called it, waited about 5 minutes, then a lady came on, verified my info for the application, then asked me if I'd be interested on a work from home business. I think this is a total scam.
Career builder is going to have to start researching some of these adds to give their clients a better assurance of what their are getting into, or else people will lose confidence in the service and not use it anymore. - FL_RED61I received the same call (and message). I had to say "hello?" four or five times, before the message finally started. They said I needed to be in front of a computer when I call, so I can fill out their on-line form. It could be a scam, but here's the strange thing -- they called my CELL number. My CELL number is not listed on my resume, cover letter, or reference list -- I only include my cell number on job applications that I'm filling out for a specific job...
- mansmanSame - they called and wanted to know if i was interested in school and what my cell carrier was. this is the second time - no job.
