This is a debt collector. Called me about a supposed debt from 11 years ago. Will not send me debt validation and begin conversation with using legal judgement terms. After I spoke statute of limitations and fdcpa language she put her "supervisor" on the phone. He said that at no point did his rep say anything about judgement. Might be a legit debt collector given the fact that the supervisor Bob was on the defensive side when asked about judgement term his rep used. They have probably been sued for deciptive business practices and statute violations. Know your rights. Don't agree to anything until you receive debt validation and still then you have more rights.

I was gonna say, once it reaches 7 years, I thought it falls off our credit report.  Not that it has happened to me, I've heard my mom say something about that...at least I thought?

I've been told it's 5 yrs. I would like to know what it really does and what our credit report says after that time has come, what it shows, if anyone can actually see the debt or if they see it, do they have to ignore it as if your ant any longer there. Also, when our credit score is actually tallied, does it leave off debts from 5-7 yrs ago and/or how does that work? Does anyone have answers to these questions?

Statute of Limitations on debt is different state to state, also depends on the type of debt. Unsecured credit usually has a SOL while a student loan would not have a SOL.. Check your State laws regarding SOL's
