- CrooksSuck| 1 replyCaller lets the phone ring twice then hangs up hoping you call back to see who called. Caution this is a SCAM. Caller claimed to be on behalf of the Florida Police & Troopers Association. Did some research and found thease crooks pockets most of the donation while giving a very small fraction of the donation to the actual cause being solicited. There was no caller ID information on this call other than their phone number. I plan to lodge a complaint with the FCC because of the lack of called ID information. Charities have to list some type of caller ID data when making a call for donations, other than just their number, if not they’re in violation of the law. It's also possible that this is a fictitious SCAM call fronting as the Florida Police & Troopers Association to get credit card information so beware.

- not Michael replies to DoNotCallAgainMost calls for charity the company making the calls keeps about 70% of every donation to cover expenses. For charities that claim to represent police or other law enforcement its even worse, with the company making the calls keeping 90-95% of your donation.
I never donate to any charity that calls me. I suggest you do the same. - MattAnswered this call last week and they claim to be from Florida Police Association trying to educate children about crime and these calls only happen once a year. I said not now as I give to the Florida Sheriff's Association and others, am on a limited income and can't support everyone who calls. Also, I do not give personal financial information over the phone to solicitors and to just mail me something at which point they usually hang up making the call suspect. While I do support Law Enforcement and have said no to them, they persist and the calls just keep coming.

- MA residentI answered the phone when the caller ID said 407-900-2589, as I was waiting for a call from someone from Florida and I knew that area code 407 was Florida. Caller said they were calling from the Florida Police Association and that the call was being recorded. First of all, someone looking for a donation does not record the phone call - 1st tipoff. Secondly, I said "Do you know you're calling Massachusetts?" - they hung up. I have received many calls from this number over the past month, and will not be answering any I get in the future. Don't they have anything better to do on a Saturday night? Smarten up! We're on to you . . .
- Caller: No name, just 407-900-2589
- anonymous replies to CrooksSuckNever give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 99% for themselves and sends 1% to the charity. Best to donate directly to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.
- Mimi| 1 replyCalls twice a day for months. I cannot block them. FTC does nothing...I do not pick up when I see Orlando and 407/900-2589. With all our technology, one would think we could figure it out. Maybe if everyone calls the DNC list and makes a comment, it would help.

- not Michael replies to MimiCharities are exempt from the Do Not Call list law, even the fake charities that keep most of every donation.
