This was a call from San Fran according to my caller ID. No message and this is my cell so Ian annoyed. I am on the do not call !! Must be a scam. Regarding the above posts: I've had Cox call me before to sell services and they always left messages before! I'm not sure it's really Cox Cable.

This number is a telemarketer for Cox Communications.  
I received a call on July 29, 2013 offering me cable service (in addition to the internet service I currently have) for $5.00 a month, for 12 months with obligation/contract.
When I called Cox to confirm my appointment for installation tomorrow, I was told that that is not the amount noted on my account and that the total monthly bill would be $99 +/- (that includes $56.99 for internet).  
The cheapest service they could offer me was $21.99 per month.  
Save yourself the frustration and just don't answer this number.  
When I tried to call the number to voice my frustration it said the voicemail box was full and hung up on me.

It's not "Cox", it's a telemarketer supposedly selling cable service through Cox.
I agreed to their service offer but when I called today to confirm install, was told that the price I was quoted was not the price I'd be charged.

i receive calls from this number every day to my cell phone.  no one leaves a message but they leave the line open in my voice mail but its only silence.   PLEASE STOP THE CALLING.  The caller ID does not provide a company name only the telephone number of 408-418-5564

I received 2 calls from this number on my cell phone and it comes up "California".  When I answered the automated voice said something about Cox Communications, then it cut off.  Im sure Cox is not calling me.

I live in Rhode Island and have been receiving calls from this number for 2 weeks. They call pretty much every other day. Also leaving no voice mail other than a 3 second blip of background noise.. Weird.

Did not pick up AND they left 15s of nothing on V-mail.

This number has been calling me too. I feel like a while ago it called me and identified itself as Cox because when it started calling me again recently I had it in my head that it might be Cox, but I wasn't sure.  Yesterday they called me twice and today once and left a voicemail all three times-- the same exact thing, about three seconds long sounding distant starting off with "Yeah..." then no idea what the last few words were but it sounds like a TV or a recording of something its not an actual person on the other end talking.  So creepy and bizarre. Finally I googled the number and found this forum. So I called Cox to tell them to make it stop, and the guy had no idea what I was talking about.  But I gave him the number and he said he'd look into it and put me on hold.  When he came back, he said they werent sure what it was, but also told me I would not be receiving anymore calls from the number! How could you ensure that if it wasn't them?! Lol.  Absolutely obnoxious.

I have been getting calls/voicemails from this number once or twice a day for the last couple of weeks.  Every time they leave a voicemail, it is the exact same recording of what sounds like background noise.  Kind of creepy.  They've called me as late as 7:50 pm.  I live in Southern California.

This number calls me at least 4 times per day. It's a robocall if I pick up, if not, I get a message with nothing but breathing. On my cellphone!  I had told the last Cox telemarketer to put me on their do-not-call list, but this number is still calling me so I filed an FCC complaint. You can go to the website and fill out the form online, it takes about 5 minutes. Maybe if more people do that, these callers will get the message to stop.

I've been receiving these calls once or twice a day for several weeks, to my mobile number in San Diego. As others have noted, if I don't answer they leave four seconds of silence. I finally answered, to tell them to stop calling, and heard a short recorded message about "Cox Communucations services available", and if I have any questions I should call 800-576-0161. That number gives a constant busy signal. I'm going to file an FCC complaint.

I got a call from them one time at 8:45 at night and another time on saturday. When I answered they sold me a cox service 50 channels for $5 a month with free installation in every room. I seems to good to be true. I called cox and they claim they do not know anything about this service and don't even have a plan like this. They are also not even familiar with the number. I wondering If I got scammed. I am still trying to track them down. When I call the number it states that "this mailbox is full".

This stupid person needs to stop freaking calling me like crazy! I have got 5 calls with in the last 3 hours today alone and they also call at least once a day almost everyday! The don't leave a VM either!

This number called and let it ring until my machine picked it up. The message states "my last name first then my first name" then it says that they have my ssn. Call is from San Francisco Bay Area.
