STOP CALLING MY PHONE AND NOT ANSWERING.

I agree stop calling my phone and not answering or leaving a message..10 times a day!!!

Received a call from this number and they left a number that was from Conn's.

Several calls over several days - I do not answer and they never leave a message. I do not live in Texas or know anyone who does. I do not have debt. Numbers that call include 409-291-5865, 409-761-5431, 409-761-5430, 409-293-3123, 409-242-6998, 409-242-6994, 409-299-4610, and possibly others. They seem to try a new number about every day or so. Hope they stop calling soon. This is ridiculous!

More of the annoying constant daily calls since Oct 2014.  I haven't posted in a while so I figure I'd do a year-end list since my last post on Nov 23.  The number of scam calls I've received is ridiculous, I get as many as 20 a day now, TWENTY (I'm not displaying calls with no numbers here, I get a few of those too).  How many hundreds of calls do I need to get before it is considered harassment?  Phone company won't do anything about it, they want to sell me more overpriced crap.  I'll probably be switching to a VoIP service soon so I can have control over my line without getting ripped off.

Anyway, here's the nightmare of calls.  By the way, I don't owe anyone money, I've never had a student loan, I've never done business with "Conn's" or "SALLIE MAE", these calls are pure BS.  And they never leave a message when they manage to get the voice mail:

I don't know how much more I'll be posting, I think this list gives the idea and I simply can't keep up with it anymore.  I bought a new Panasonic phone that allows 250 blocked numbers and you can set it to not ring on the first ring before it blocks, which has helped save my sanity (I'm not posting the model number here so this isn't considered spam, but it's easy to find with a search).

The network you are looking for falls under Department of Education http://www.finaid.org/loans/collectionagencies.phtml and http://www.finaid.org/loans/servicers.phtml 

Seeing a lot of complaints about this number. It appears to belong to Conns (electronics/appliances/sofas). Curious to hear more about these calls, as they seem pretty patently illegal. I'm a lawyer who does this kind of work.

Typically contingency work if you do have a case, meaning you pay the lawyer nothing, they get paid from whatever you receive.

This number is Conns. They call you from this number after your monthly payment becomes due and you haven't paid. It's not a scam number or a telemarketer. Its a company trying to collect the money they are owed.

That's not true. I don't have any outstanding debt and they keep calling me.

That's complete nonsense Darrell. I have never done business with Conns .. Do not have any accounts with Conns.. Nor had I ever even heard of them... until they started harassing me with their endless stream of calls from every known number in the 409 area code. It's hard to legitimately collect a  debt when a debt was never incurred and you never even knew about the company until their spam calls all began pouring in.. This a complete scam and I suspect you are a part of it.  To all others... Beware of this scam.

It is Conn's payment center. They call to tell you your payment is coming due or past due. It is not a scam, mine was recording telling me my payment was coming due.

Got a call telling me I had a past due payment and another one coming up soon.  I don't live in Texas, and I don't have a Conn's account, and never have had one.  I go by my middle name, and the woman said she was looking for someone with my middle and last name.  Asked me for my birthday, and I said I wasn't going to give her any personal information over the the phone.  I asked her for the address of the person she was trying to contact. I have one of the most common names in America - not John Smith, but not far off - and she wouldn't give me the information over the phone, either.  I don't know if this was a legit call and a mistake, but it started smelling like a potential scam, so I told her she had the wrong guy and asked them not to call me again.

These people are complete incompetent morons.  They have called non-stop for the last three months.  I have blocked 20 of their numbers but they obviously have an unlimited supply as that has not helped.  They are in Texas and we are in California.  We have never done business with them and they are stalking us as if we owe them something, which we don't.  They are such inconsiderate [***] that they call at 6:00AM. Fortunately my ringer is turned low and off in the bedroom.  They can pound sand up a river.  How ironis the name is Conns........like con-artist.  The odds of us returning their call is the same as a Texas bull taking a dump on their from doorstep, and then getting struck by lightning.

I answered 409-242-6998 it was Conn's Furniture/Appliance payment office calling to collect a payment.

I don't know who this is and I don't answer unknown callers.
