- Concerned| 1 replyI received an email from these people with attachments stating one is a warrant and the other is a summons with a case number and the entire nine yards. That there was three serious charges from the FTC Bureau of Defaulters Agency - FTC Incorporation. I did not open the links as they would most likey contain malware that would harm my computer. I also forwarded the email to THE REAL FTC. The email address is spam@uce.gov
The link to the FTC is
https://www.ftc.gov/
the link talking about this fraud is also on the FTC page. Link is:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/there-no-bureau-defaulters
I've also recieved calls from these people...
I decided to answer it recently. She stated they were a collection agency. I immediately got yelled at by a lady on the phone (who had an accent that sounded like someone from overseas) stating I received a payday loan in 2012 in the amount of $300.00 from a company named JD Marketing. Of course this is not true. I had payday loans in the past (last one in 2007..ish) but from a well known payday loan company only that was local. Anyways, I requested documentation to prove it was mine. She then got REALLY pi**ed off and gave me to a manager. The manager threatened me and then offered to "write off" a portion of it. I again said not without documentaion; to whit she said they don't have to provide that (because "they were the only the ones who took the debt/note") and they would be charging me with four different crimes including fraud, FTP a debt and some other stuff (I couldn't understand her through her anger and accent) if I don't pay them and I would be seeing it on my credit report and it would be going to court. Despite knowing this is a scam it's thoroughly frightening! I'm not one to be scared into something like this, I can only imagine how others react and just pay without proof because they are unsure or scared! NEVER PAY WITHOUT PROOF! Again, all of this is supposedly in the name of JD MARKETING. Beware!- Caller: Payday loan collection in the name of JD Marketing

- CWG40 replies to ShaunPhone calls and e-mails are not legal notifications of anything. Never pay money to anyone who contacts you in such a manner.
- CWG40 replies to MarthaIgnore. Total scam. Report it to your local authorities. Phone calls and e-mails are not legal notifications of anything. If there were an outstanding arrest warrant against you, you'd hear about it in person from your local law enforcement. This is a total scam meant to scare you into giving them some money.
You can check this out by simply going to your local police and showing them what you have received.
This is an ongoing scam that originates in India or Pakistan.
