- Walt| 28 repliesGot a harassing phone call from this number. They left a message on my answering machine. They claimed that they were with an IRS investigation office that was going to press criminal charges against me. Sound like a complete fraudulent call. I am certain that it's a phishing scheme of some kind. Just blocked the number don't fall for their line of garbage.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - Chris GreenGot the call this morning answered it and it was a prerecorded saying they were from the IRS crime division. Did not mention my name. So def. a phishing scam.
Do not respond. Or call back and give fake info to screw with them. - Charles MagnerThis sleeze ball represented himself as IRS
investigation - sally replies to Walt| 21 repliesSame here but got in an email, I hope I didn't get a virus because of it. Exact same thing saying I am going to be prosecutes in a court house. Scam!!!!
- Melissa37| 5 repliesReceived an email from a guy, by the name of Chris Matthews, who claims to be an attorney. Email states that i will be arrested within the next couple of days, and i will be charged with violation of federal banking regulation act 1983, collateral check fraud, and theft by deception. Apparently the "summons" is attached to this email, but i will not be opening it
- Eve Miller| 1 replyI didn't receive a phone call but an email from Chris Matthews threading arrest for bank fraud etc. just another scammer!

- Keith replies to sally| 6 repliesI got one online as well. It said Federal District Court. It did not say which one. The case number should have the date in it and it doesn't. The real truth is if we were really in trouble, the feds would just show up, they wouldn't call or e-mail first.
- annoyed replies to Eve MillerReceived the same email.
- mgot another email from them stating the same things as above Put in junk folder
- Call type: Prank
- BrandiI got an email as well, this is not the first time I have received one. I get them every couple of months. It is a scam.
- EsterI received an email from a Chris Matthews State Attorney Office Columbia, MD 21046. The email states an arrest warrant . I m suppose to respond within 48 hours if not the legal action will be activated. If the federal government wanted to arrest someone I pretty sure they would send an email.
- EsterI do some research on the following number 410-501-5474, and came across this information. The company's name is Level (3) Communication, they are located in Baltimore, MD
- EsterI did some further research and found out the company name they use has nothing to do with the law or warrant. Wow this is an extreme way to harass people for money.
- robert replies to Keith`I agree, they just show up with no warning.
- gretchenI got the same email from Chris Matthews. Did not open the attachment. Sending it to Spam.
- Caller: Email
- ybotI got the same thing the other day it scared me at first but now it does not bother me reading your people comments I was fixing pay him.
- kellySame thing.
- Selena| 3 repliesI received an email as well from Chris Matthews saying arrest warrent in attachment. I will not open it. Bottom line if you are in this kind of trouble they will show up at your door. But he had the nerve to say he works at the states attorney office. NOT! These scammers need to find a real job. I deleted the email. Received the same number by the way 410-501-5474. Rediculous.
