I received a message from this number telling me the IRS was suing me and to call them right back.  My son called me very upset.  I explained that if the IRS was really suing me, I would have been receiving a lot of correspondence prior to that happening and to ignore it.  I called them back, they answer IRFS and was told I had a criminal offense against me and this was my last chance to settle this.  I argued that if that was true, I would have received correspondence, he told me I would see.  Oh well!!

I got a phone call today saying there was a lawsuit against me and I needed to call the number. I  called the number and I was told that they were the IRS and there was a warrant out for my arrest because I had committed tax fraud. He then said that he was filing it and that it would be sent to me. I told him I didn't understand. He then very rudely proceeded to tell me blah blah blah and how could I not understand I had committed a criminal offense. I asked to speak with the manager and I was hung up on. They never asked me for identification or my any other personal information.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

We received a call from this number around 11:00am CST leaving a message that we were being sued by the IRS.  When my husband called back and began asking specific questions, they hung up on him. He called again with the same results. Both times he spoke to someone sounding of middle eastern descent.

I received a telephone call from 410-501-5902.  The message stated that this is a call from the IRS, that the IRS is sueing me and I must  call back immediately.  I am retired, have a rather small income, and filed with the H&R Block company in Santa Fe with a tax associate who has the e-mail of garrett.snyder@tax.hrblock.com.

I think this is a scam. I have no idea how this caller got any information on me, and I have enrolled in unknown call protection.  I did not talk to the place that called.  The message only stated that this is the IRS and you are sueing me and to call immediately.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.  bLOCK  the calls and ignore them.
    See:  http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Reiterate ... -Telephone-Scam

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

The calls cannot be stopped.  You can protect yourself to a degree with a call blocker.  Also, don't pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.

I received a telephone call from 410-501-5902.  The message stated that this is a call from the IRS, that the IRS is sueing me and I must  call back immediately.   I  called the number and I was told that they were the IRS and there was a warrant out for my arrest because I had committed tax fraud. They also said that the IRS did an audit on my taxes between 2008 and 2013 and that it was found that I owed over $5000 in back taxes. I told them to contact H & R block. they are the ones that did and have been doing my taxes for at least 15yrs. He said if I didn't pay the back taxes in 45 minutes that all the paperwork would be sent to the local police dept. and that I would be arrested by the end of the day. (I am still waiting for the to show up) This is the second call I have received from them.
