Caller with common foreign accent wanted to, once again, update our online YellowBook records. Thanks but no thanks.

Started calling two days ago, but they do not leave a message.

For the past two weeks I have received atleast 5 calls from "yellow pages" wanting to update information on the business that I work for. First one I verified the info, then the guy asked for my first and last name. I said some random name and told him I don't think it's necessary that he need my last name. Then he hung up. Every time therafter I tell them that I have received this call too many times in the past few weeks. They apoligize and hang up. Next I will ask to speak with a manager and ask that this stops.

These people are awful please make them stop! We get calls at least 6 times a week. You tell them that you want to be taken off their calling list and they say "No you have a free business listing and we are calling to update it." If you ask if they are with att yellow pages they will never say no but rather beat around the bush giving you a line of crap in their foreign accents. If you do give them your information they will charge you. The say something like we can add a web address....da da da da. BIG SCAM!

I have explained to them many time we no longer have the business!! But they keep calling anyway.  And like everyone else is saying they will not STOP. They don't want to leave a message. They don't need anyone's personal info.They need to find something better to do with their time and stop bothering people. We have been getting at least 5 or 6 calls a week. Plus my number is on the do not call list.  You would like they would get the hint.  If I need them I will call them.

Receive calls from this number (412-374-9957) constantly.  Has anyone found a way to stop the calls??  Have had two calls today, half an hour apart, both were hang ups when I answered.

We get at least one call per day from this number. If I answer I get someone with a heavy foreign accent who tells me he's calling from online yellow pages to update the information in our free business listing. When I tell him I am not authorized to incur any charges for the business, he says he's just updating the free listing we already have. If I tell him that we got "slammed" with a $400 bill in this way once before and that I should not even be talking to him, he reiterates the free part. "That's what the other company told me too" I always reply. Very annoying, I wish they would stop calling.

I deal with telemarketers quite a bit but I've never had one get caught in a lie and still try to scam me.

So these guys call they talk about updating my listing for the online yellow pages. I tell them I want to opt out and to put me on their "do not call" list. The guy says he not able to do that unless I confirm my info and get a verification code. So they transfer me to another guy that confirms business name, location, etc. Then I say I want to opt out and then they say their systems doesn't allow them to remove me from their call list. Without skipping a beat the guy tries to sell me a website advertising package. I tell him no and that I want to speak to a supervisor. After 5 mins of me saying I want to be off their list and the other guy speaking over me from his script he finally transfers me when I tell him I'm not authorizing anything.

Then the supervisor. The Supervisor, "Ira" (Jewish name on a guy with a thick Indian accent, supposedly calling from Kansas. Yeah right).  Anyway Ira tells me he's going to walk me through the opt out process. He makes a 3 way call and I hear a machine welcome me to some website building company. I verify that have the authority to make changes. I finally get to a prompt that says I will be billed for building a website and internet advertising. If I want to accept the charges say Yes, if I want to decline press #9. So I say "NO" and press #9. Ira says I have to say Yes, then he will press #9 thereby opting me out. At this point I explain to him what he is saying is clearly the opposite of what the pre-recorded prompt said and that he makes no sense. I have to accept a service I don't want first and only then can I cancel and opt out of getting calls. He says he'll just take me off and lead me through a series of more prompt before coming back to the authorization prompt. He says I must says yes before he can help me. Again, I don't fall for it and clearly say NO. Now Ira get back on the line and gets annoyed at me for not listening to him. I've just about enough, so I take down some details and ask him if he thinks I'm stupid. I can clearly hear and understand what the prompts are saying yet Ira is saying the prompts are wrong, he says to listen and trust him. I've never had anyone obviously lie to me and then insult my intelligence by saying I don't understand plain English when English is the one and only language I've ever spoken in my entire life. I tell him I'm going to call my state hotline and report this incident. Ira doesn't even seem to be listening to me anymore, he's still trying to convince me to say "Yes" at that prompt to accept charges. I hung up on him, then call my phone carrier can instruct them to deny any charges to by line.

Same story, they just keep calling.  They have been using other names and numbers in the past,seem to know the voices by now. This site is good as gold about tracing numbers.

same bullsh#@ as everyone else. i tried to tell them to put me on their "do not call" list, but was told they didnt have one. i told them if they are just verifying my existing info. , that everything has remained the same so do not call again!! they still call every day around 1:30pm. tomorrow i will tell them my next call will be to the police for harassment.

i didn't answer, the call was early a m. so i looked it up here.  this is just another example of how weak our gov't is, " no call list, my [***] " the people in the private sector are the only ones doing squat about anything, keep up the good work THANKS for exposing this 412 374 9956

got another call on the 25th, threatened them with the police, got an apology, and they just called again!!!
