Got same scam message four times in one day. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize so he left a recorded message each time. Annoying!

Report the Scam
If you get a call from a government imposter, file a complaint at ftc.gov/complaint.
Be sure to include:
• date and time of the call
• name of the government agency the imposter used
• what they tell you, including the amount of money and the payment method they ask for
• phone number of the caller; although scammers may use technology to create a fake number or spoof a real one, law  
  enforcement agents may be able to track that number to identify the caller
• any other details from the call

Received two calls from this number.  Both time the  person calling identified themselves as Dean Martin.  Had a East Indian accent. He claimed he was with the US Treasury and we needed to respond right away in order to stop legal action against us We needed to return his call to get help to stop the legal issue.  What a scam.  First an Indian person would most likely not be named Dean Martin and the US Treasury does not call people and threaten them with legal action.  What a dope!.

I've called and spoken to him about his scam, and almost got him to admit that it was. He is using Magic Jack numbers, and as another poster mentioned, could be anywhere in the world (like India as his accent suggests). If anyone really wants to do something about this you should direct your ire at Magic Jack. All the numbers I've looked up were Magic Jack (or YMax, the parent company), and they could restrict this activity if they themselves weren't a step above sleazy. Bottom line: if you owe the IRS, you won't be getting a threatening call from someone in New Delhi.
