When I returned the call, I recieved an automated response saying that it was a leading provider of fundraising services for "nonprofit organizations, liberal arts institutions, and private colleges, etc." I have received several calls like this recently all with different phone numbers including area codes.  I'm pretty sure it isn't a scam but I have never answered when they call and they never leave messages.  I hope this helped!

Called at 4:31 pm PT on 19-July-2011.  Was not available.  No msg left on ans machine.  Caller ID shows "San Francisco CA" (415 area code is SF).  We don't know anyone in SF.  Been receiving a lot of fundraising calls in past 3 months from various numbers, no doubt computer generated numbers so they can't be traced.  These people are crazy to think that we would provide anything for unknown and unwanted solicitations.

My son is a senior and this number and similar numbers call our house daily and never leave a msg.

I am a senior and I'm pretty sure its a college number. I have been sending out applications and getting random calls from different institutions.

Just received (2) calls in a row this this number.  I let the answering machine pick-up, no one, no message. I also have a Jr. in high school and have started to receive college/university correspondence, this must be tied to some sort of school list.  And why do they think they can ignore the Do Not Call list just because they're fundraising (if that's what they're calling it)?

They called me today and I had answered. I didn't say anything but on the other end, a woman was talking. The background noise was also loud but sounded like children running around.. I do not know anyone with this number :\

Got a call so called back and they play a message about collecting money for college etc. my son isa student at LaSalle University so i asked them to please call back so we could talk about them cutting a check for $5,000 for this semester Hope they can help I sure need it more than they do. LMAO.

Was called by this number today. i am a high school senior and was expecting it to be a college from the San Francisco area that I applied to. When i answered, i heard nothing and the call hung up.

Phone called today. I didn't pick up.

I called back. The answering machine said it was RuffaloCODY, and that they help colleges universities and prospective students... Something like that. I googled them. It looks like they're a legit company.

I've been getting calls from this number too, but it's my business line.  Others are assuming this is related to colleges, but it's coming to my business line rather than my personal home line.  Nobody on the other end when I answer.

They can ignore it because "The National Do Not Call Registry does not limit calls by political organizations, charities, or telephone surveyors."

Got a call today from this number today, didn't answer it because I didn't recognize it. I've been getting a lot of calls from unfamiliar numbers lately. I am not a senior in high school and we have no children, and thus no children in school. My husband graduated college in 1999 and I finished graduate school in 2009, I paid my student loans off years ago, and it's all a long way of saying: there is no reason we should be receiving calls from any organization of the type described here. It may be a scam. I receive calls from this number three to five times weekly and they never leave a voicemail. Blocked the number via my Verizon service today.

recieved call, didnt answer, no message....this has been happening since May started...

I received a call from this number today and answered it. I couldn't really understand them but I heard something about them being a college in Ohio. They said they had a few questions for me about what I look for in a college.
