- Vicki D.| 1 replyI got a call from this number today at 11am and I let it go to voicemail - robotic female voice said she was Nicky Johnson from the IRS. Gave this same number to call and not ignore this message "before we take action against you". Obviously total BS. When will these idiots cease and desist?

- Cindy E.| 1 replyI picked up the ringing phone and a robotic female voice (recording) she was Nicky Johnson from the IRS. Gave this same number to call and not ignore this message "before we take legal action against you". I called right back and the phone was answered by someone saying it was the IRS. I asked for Nicky Johnson and was told she was busy and then the line disconnected. When I called back it just rang. I googled the number and saw this site. I agree that it definitely is not the IRS; probably a scammer.

- BillCalled at 0505 in northern Nevada by robotic female voice (recording) who said she was Nicky Johnson from the IRS. Gave this same number to call and to not ignore this message "before we take legal action against you". I called the number at 0830 and was told that the man who answered the phone was Alan Parker and that the IRS was preparing a lawsuit against me and he asked did I have an attorney representing me. I told him no and that I was not aware of a lawsuit. He said he would read the affidavit and that I should not interrupt. I requested that someone who speaks better English read the affidavit because I only understood half of what he was saying due to his Indian accent. He hung up on me ... go figure.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail. - L.C.| 1 replyI have been receiving calls from this number for over 2years and repeatedly asked them to cease and desist. For the first 1.5 yrs. a man, with a heavy accent (sounded east Indian) has repeatedly called my work number and asked for some fictional person that has never worked here. In the last few months I have started to receive a recorded, robotic message from a women saying it is the IRS and not to ignore the call. Today, fed up yet again, I called back and was greeted by the man who had been calling for the first 1.5 years. I asked him if he knew my name - he asked for my phone number and said he was trying to reach "Ann" - I told him no such person existed and to stop calling me at which point he hung up.

- IIHS| 2 repliesWe received a call from this number. It was robotic female voice said she was Nicky Johnson from the IRS. Gave this same number to call and not ignore this message "before we take action against you". . First of all, the IRS doesn't call personally. They contact by mail. She stated it was important that we call back. The ended by saying "Take care and have a nice day". Come on. Since when did a business call that was letting you know there was legal action being taken against you end with a comment like that. Total Scam. This needs to stop......

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

https://www.straighttalkwirelessforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6803&t=55006 - J Scott| 1 replyI just got a call from this number at 9:30 am this morning. A robotic female voice, saying the same things mentioned above, that it was the IRS and threatening legal action and for me to immediately return the phone call to Nikki Johnson, at the same number. (I wouldn't be surprised if there is a charge for the return call.). The caller ID comes up 'unknown name'.
I was pretty sure it was a scam because I had never received a letter from the IRS about a problem. Second, the caller ID would have said it was from the 'IRS' and not 'unknown' and third, it never stated by name the person they were supposedly looking for, and claiming action against. I immediately checked the number out online and found this site and comments. Definitely a scam as suspected. I wish our country could do more to stop these kind of predatory calls. I hope I am not plagued by more of these calls like some of the people above.
Thank you Tamianth for the links and information on what we can do about it.- Caller: unkown-claimed IRS
