portraying to be in "minerals"... says he lives in Texas, USA... also calls from cel phone number with out of country area code, area code 233 which is "Ghana", Ghana is in Africa. Says name is "Russel Smith"... voice on phone has "middle eastern" accent.

You are not the only one receiving these calls.  I looked up this telephone number and the call is from San Franscisco.  When I googled anglogold finance and security company my results were about a fraud.  I typed in Gold Scam to google and it listed a few scams that watchers know of as of late.  It is a scam.  I googled the name Gary Russell Smith and it showed up as am obituary.  He sent information to my friend and she asked me to check it out.  I did not like what I found.  Apparantly this person has a trunk of gold that he purchased but was $16,000 short for shipping fees and he had to get out of the country because he was not safe there.  He also is telling my friend that he loves her and wants to come to Canada and pick her up, give her her money back with interest and be together in the US.  He asked my friend to send money to him by Western Union.  He is calling her repeatedly on her cell phone.  Thanks for posting this so maybe more people will know about him.  The dirty [***].
