the phone rang from that number, i answered then i heard what sounded like a someone hanging up  i said again hello noone answered so i hung up.

Just got a call from this number whose name is (are you ready for this?) ... V40412024600017.

I've always found that use of that type of caller ID is the clear sign of scum trying to steal ID or money from us.

So I picked up and immediately hit #### which should tell the robocaller that my number doesn't exist (they just randomly assemble potential phone numbers and a lot of them are non-existent numbers). With luck, they will never call me back. Number is apparently from Toronto but in fact is likely spoofed.

I answered the phone and the guy's accent was so thick I couldn't understand him. I had to ask twice where he was calling from and I still don't know what he said. Something Communications, and that he was calling about my long distance plan. I said "I am not with this company, nor do I need your service. Take me off your call list." He talked over me and was telling me I was paying too much for my long distance.  I told him I didn't need his plan and to take me off the call list. He said "No. I will not take you off the list." I said "Pardon me?? Take me off the call list now!" He said "No, you are paying too much for your long distance, I am going to save you money." I lost it on him and he finally hung up.

Same as others have written - Caller ID gave a list of 14 numbers instead of a name, so I didn't waste time answering.
