These guys are so stupid that their first call actually is with an autodialer, so I say hello, the first time, by the time it sends my call to an agent, I hang up.  Then I search it and see your comments, then I block.  let them call again, like many other numbers of them that I have blocked.

I don't know the caller behind the number so I didn't answer.

If this is a collection agency - how sad - you are trying to collect money in these times ...

I was thinking the same thing - I was thinking about writing an MP about it and see if they can be shut down. Collection agencies are not essential in these times and a lot of people who were too broke to pay debt before are most likely struggling even more now!

Obnoxious, rude lowlifes called me April 20, 2020 from "416-673-9230" and didn't have the courtesy or decency to take 5 seconds to leave a message.   Some posts report this is shady debt collector "CBV".    These calls originate with scammers, telemarketers or fraudulent debt collectors who use fake/phantom/random generated area code "416" and other area code numbers, in this case supposedly from "Toronto".   These disconnected "hang-up" and "silent" calls are "phishing" or SCAM CALLS.  Their equipment registers when you connect and answer and then they will TRACK YOU as a possible "sucker" for EVEN MORE CALLS!   They rarely  leave a message like a legitimate caller.
NEVER, EVER answer these nuisance calls, even to argue or challenge the call!  DON'T ANSWER!  BLOCK THE NUMBER!  DON'T ANSWER "ANY" UNIDENTIFIED CALLS!    If it is a debt collector, they have no special power or status regardless of where they claim the debt is owed.  Bottom feeding debt collection companies hide behind many different phone numbers and pretend to be affiliated with authentic government agencies.  They purchase debts unverified in court for pennies on the dollar without checking whether the claim is valid (if a debt is legitimate a lender can file a claim throught the civil courts; making phone calls is just pointless harassment).  If you NEVER answer they will finally give up.  Unfortunately they exist because they can take advantage of robocalling and weak legislation to prey on and intimidate consumers.   Like the bad old days of junk faxes in the 1980s these "boiler room" operations will fade away eventually.   These calls will STOP all the quicker IF NO ONE ANSWERS these unidentified or annoyance calls!

These guys are a real collection agency who refuse to obey any of the legal statutes governing the industry. They have call centres all around the world so the people who call you don't even know what it is they are calling about. They will patch you through to a Canadian office if you stay on the line long enough. Complaining to the government or the BBB or anyone is relatively ineffective. But why not complain to the guy who owns it? His name is Bob Richards. He is the CEO. You can find his email on the internet. He also runs a company called Front Line Group- a subsidiary of CBV and both share their HQ in Vancouver. Their twitter is @flg_frontline - out them on social media. They do payroll service for a number of companies. You can find out who they are on the web. If you do business with these companies call them up and threaten to boycott unless they stop doing business with Front Line. That will hurt Bob Richards bottom line. In other words, take the complaint to Bob Richards front door.
