- BruceI got a call from this number 4 times between Aug 13-16 until they got a hold of me. First they ask some questions related to experience at York and what job I am working and what things they would like to see improve in courses taken by students. So I answered all their questions which eventually leads to donating money as burseries to help new students get into their programs. This is the second time I've donated to them (being a York Alumni) and I get the feeling that York U is only after peoples money. Hence, I've decided to block them. Sorry York U!

- BobThis individual is not representing York U, beware, it is a scam to acquire your personal information and money. York U's number is 416 736 2100, and they are taking advantage of the similarity between York's phone number, lying and saying it is an extension, but it in fact isn't. Beware.
- Caller: Impersonator if York U

- JayGenuinely tired of this number calling me. They stopped for a while and then started up again. If you're really affiliated with York University you wouldn't be calling on Sundays or after 8pm. If it's about alumni stuff they usually send you letters or emails not a phone call. Wish they would stop

Calls too often for legit fund raising when York U. has plenty of government support above their already high tuitions.
Sounds like they are fishing for credit card numbers like so many pther scammers out there.
My phone doesn't even ring when I block number which is priceless, and stores 200 bocked numbers with voice of who's calling, LOVE IT

- AJ| 1 replyJust received a scam call from this number claiming to be ‘York University’. They said they were calling to update my information. She knew my address and asked if it was still correct. When I questioned her she said “no I am from York, my manager is here if you’d like to talk to him”. They sound VERY convincing. I declined and said I would prefer to update it online and asked for a link - she couldn’t provide any information about what link to go to or even what tab to navigate to on York’s website. She proceeded to say “I have your degree information here if you’d like me to prove I’m from York”. Be careful, definitely not real. They’ve been calling me for 7 over years now.
- Caller: York University

- AJ replies to SvenIt isn’t York University. It’s a scam and they’re spoofing the number.
- Jason replies to AJThey called after 8pm stating they were updating my old info to keep me in the loop with York U events. Kept pushing for my new address and said this was confidential, by relaying the studies I took there and my personal email.

- UllaYoung woman says she's from York University, asking me to confirm address. I've moved twice since then. She said they were fundraising and saying money from donors would be matched.
First call was after 9pm and on a Sunday. Told her not interested and don't call back. Called again tonight, again after 8pm. Told her again, don't call me again. Have blocked the number now.- Call type: Scam suspicion
- LVCaller said that they were a student working for York University Alumni. Unclear as to whether this was true or not- but it was sketchy from the outset. When they asked for a donation I ended the call
