Fundraising. That's what I get for being a member of the AGO. Yet more telemarketing phone calls.

Called my cell and I listened to the voicemail and it was a garbled mess of people talking and laughing. Art Gallery of Ontario was mentioned. It sounded extremely unprofessional.

Thanks all for the note here as to who this is. I saw a missed call and there was no voice mail. I don't answer unknown numbers. This is probably AGO telemarketing or the outfit on their behalf as Artsmarketing does come up. Also, I'm getting emails and paper mail to upgrade my membership to another level, so apparently now with the phone calls. Extremely annoying. I blocked the number.

Calls, we answer, no reply, we hang up.  They try again, twice THIS week - same routine.

Got a call today. Didn’t pick up- don’t answer unknown #s. VM Was someone breathing into phone and hanging up. Another site lists this as scam. Claiming to represent AGO. But then ask for credit info over phone for membership upgrade. I’m not an AGO member! As a former financial administrator, do not hand out personal info over phone unless you contact the organization/ company through reliable contact point yourself. Never feel pressured to answer right away. Even if the call is claiming to be of urgency - always advise you will call the the company back and handle it on your terms.
