This is Plan Canada, they have volunteers on the street that try to get you to donate to their organisation. In an effort to politely get away, people often give their name and number. They're calling to follow up and convince you to donate.

This is plan canada and they often solicit based on past members numbers, I found I didn’t want to donate on a regular basis anymore for my own reasons and they still solicit. They are a bit too aggressive, and I don’t believe all the money goes to the children because they like others have made a business of charity.

Plan International Canada -- a solid charity I have supported for many years and still do. Why they continue to call me when I currently support three little children with monthly donations baffles me. The need for sponsors for kids at risk is never fully met, I know, and probably the phone reps are unaware that I'm already a sponsor. I'm blocking this 'soliciting' number now.

Glad to see this info. My experience was a bit funnier: I found a message on my answering service ... but all it consisted of was somebody madly hammering a keyboard. No voice, no actual message.

They said they were calling from Amnestry International.  They were very polite.
