I received a call from a restricted number stating I needed to call 424-286-0008 within 2 hours to prevent legal action. Stated they had a summons, made a threat about failure to appear, and gave me a case #. I freaked out,  so I called the number & got "Mike" at Roberts and Associates.  Supposedly a law firm? Had all of my info. even my SSN#. Said they had sent letters to my address & I had failed to respond. I never received any letter. Said I owed hospital bills from from where the hospital had filed bankruptcy dating 2006-2010 in the amount of almost $7000. Wanted $2300 to settle today or $100 today then $100 out of each check until amt. paid in full. Scared me to death. I called the hospital...they found no debts in that amount outstanding in my name. Even if I owed these bills, the Statute of limitations in my state is 6 years...stated that to this man...he said it was 10 years & they would sue me, garnish my wages & go after my husband. Told him I would not pay without proof. Pretty sure these guys are scammers!

I got the same thing as well. I told them to go fly a kite. The answering machine doesn't even have the supposed company name

Called claimed I had some Bill from hospital on they needed to serve me on. Then began to threaten me demanding money or I'll be arrested and go to court. I told them to f off

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.
You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.
