supposed tax evasion alert

They left a message warning of tax evasion and instructed me to call them back before Federal court proceedings begin: a scam is all I would guess.

total scam - irs does not call for money. they visit you! :-)

Got a call via voice mail from them.  425 296 2447: sounds like spam or a scam

called automated stating I have commited tax fraud and will be charged an arrested.

Got a phone call saying I've committed tax fraud (clearly I didn't do it right! Don't have a penny to my name right now!). Scam!

I believe it's a scam. The number they called is a text free number. I don't think the irs would have that number.

Clearly a fishing scam. They called with an unintelligible company name "tax fraud department IRS" claiming that the IRS was going after me and unless I called them back, my case would be going to court. Don't fall for it.

IRS doesn't call you, they send hard copy mail. So lame.

Scammers call purportedly from the IRS

I called it back to see what happened.  A caller answered, with a very strong Indian accent, saying he was the IRS and May I help you?  When I asked him his name, and clearly I knew he wasn't the IRS, he said he wanted to (insert profanity here)....I told him I hoped Karma got him good...the big jerk.

I got the IRS scam call too. Just ignore them.

Got an automated call. my call was picked up by a man with a thick indian accent. Super vague about who he was, etc. Do not give your information to him

They wanted me to go to Rite Aid buy a card put money on it and give them the numbers they said I wasn't allowed to talk to a third party about this. Sounds kind of suspect

It's not "kind of suspect" - it IS suspect! The entire thing is a scam. Do NOT do as they said. DO NOT answer any of their calls. DO block and ignore this number.

Of course they don't want you to talk to anyone.  They didn't want someone to stop you from paying them.  These are foreign criminals.  this is the most publicized scam in America.

IRS Scam:

The IRS does not need to sue anyone.  They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office.  Several of them.  Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for.  Again delivered by the Post Office.  Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own.  If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge?  They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.

I got the call also saying tax fraud, dont they know that tax scam is big right now, and irs dont call you. Plus my phone is in my brother name family plan lmao so stupid.

This is an overseas scam that is looking to take advantage of vulnerable people.
