Said was IRS was going to sue... scam.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

Got the same call from this number on my cell.  Scam

Caller left a voicemail to say that I was being sued by IRS and to call back immediately.

They called claiming to be IRS, and that an audit had been  performed on me and they discovered I owe about $2000. They threatened me to pay it or wait till the authorities knock on my door and arrest me. When I took my time to ask them questions, they told me that I had taken enough time and that I should choose what I want to do, pay them or be arrested. I said I want to be arrested and they hang up. This is clearly a scam.

When I called the number back, the line was busy(red flag). I called again and the number was answered by someone with indian accent (red flag-IRS should at least have a call prompt to ask wether I speak spanish)

At this point, I ignored them...

Received automated call claiming IRS was filing suit for unpaid taxes.  Obvious scam.  I hung up and blocked number.

Said it was IRS and they are suing me. Why would the IRS sue me? Baloney!

I just received a call from this number claiming they are putting a law suit against me call immediately. They said it was from the IRS. We used to be able to make a call to the telephone company is they called 3 times. There is one time fee of 2 dollars plus cents and they look for the number. The police is then notified and they call then and one more call they will take action. I am sick and tired of the 800 numbers and hanging up. We pay for telephone services how can these idiots bother people at sometimes bad times too. I called back. They said call at a later time. It should be illegal to put a number on the phone Awhile ago a call came saying I needed to pay to get my car out it was towed. I said, MY CAR IS IN THE DRIVEWAY. Beware my son used to live next door and I saw a truck trying to take his truck. I called him at work. People go by towing cars and trucks for parts too. I am tired of thieves.
