Harassing scammers call daily all day.  Scum

"firefighters" looking for "donations" (phony nonprofit)

Called at dinner time, of course...!  I did not recognize the telephone number displayed on Caller-I.D.  So, I didn't answer.  The phone stopped ringing after 3 rings!  What legitimate caller hangs-up after 3 rings?  I suspect that:  if it is from the "Fire Department", as mentioned above, it is really a phony "Non-Profit" organization set up for the purpose of keeping the non-profit alive, where 80% or more of any money brought-in goes to merely cover costs of keeping the non-profit "above water" financially;  any remaining money might go to providing a social club-like place for "firefighters" to meet together.  My real suspicion is that it's a completely bogus "Non-Profit" where there are no beneficiaries other than those running it!  FYI:  the real Fire Department will NEVER call asking for money!  NEVER!

This is the second number that the" firefighting" scammers have used to call us.  The one time I talked to them, I told them that I NEVER ever give out credit card info to someone who calls me.  Said that he would mail me the information, but then got all weird - saying that I HAD to commit to a certain level of donation.  A real charity wouldn't bully people, or be so strange about levels of donation.  At this point I assume ALL unknown numbers that call, are scammers - have received thousands of scam calls, even though we block repeat callers and don't tend to answer the phone.  The best stop to scam calls, seems to be to answer the phone periodically and speak in another language (make one up).  Gets you off the call lists pretty quickly.

You can see from above that I have reported this number here, before.  They call frequently, sometimes more than once per day.  I noticed, however, that the calls come during week days at least mostly.  This means to me that it is likely what I refer-to as a scam center with employees hired to hit-up vulnerable people, targeting naïve elderly people whose names and numbers they have received through searches or have bought from unscrupulous businesses or other people.  DO NOT GIVE ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!  Trust only companies that you know are legitimate and with whom you initiated the business relationship on your own, not at their insistence!
