- Bank customer| 2 repliesReceived two calls in April 2016 from this number. Caller ID indicated Scotiabank. I called the bank. This is not a number associated with their services, nor my branch. No indication of ownership online. However if you call it the voice-message indicates that Scotiabank tried to call me from a standard IVR. Very strange
- Caller: Scotiabank
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Mitch M replies to Bank customerIf you didn't already during your first call to the actual Scotiabank, you should consider letting them know someone may be impersonating them for the possible purpose of fraud. The legitimate bank will have a fraud services department that will investigate the number and take legal action if needed.

- J| 1 replyI called Scotiabank....they do not know this number and no fraud on my card....this number is a SCAM!!!!
- Lisa| 1 replyAt first i received that call and it was automated. Then i shut off my phone and called Scotia to see if it was them. They said no. Then i receive that same number calling me. So i decide not to answer thinking its fraud. Then they actually left me a 1-800 # to call and it is Scotia Visa theft security #. They asked me if i booked a hotel in Kansas, in USA. I told them no, and i'm at work. So this is a Scotia #

CALL THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD - MThis is a real Scotiabank number. We had sent an email to their head office, because of a concern we had. They called us from this number to discuss the email with us.
- Caller: Scotiabank
- DThis is a real Scotiabank number. I had a call this morning, didn't recognize the number, ignored it. It kept calling for the rest of the hour and I finally answered it. Someone had used my credit card. The caller asked me no personal information and sorted out the issue by sending a new card to my local branch.
- Caller: Soctiabank Visa
- AJI received the same call, however I DON'T have a Scotiabank card or account. Comes uo as fraud on many sites.
- ConcernedGot a missed call from this number. Listed as Scotiabank. It left a voice mail to call 1-800-290-2654. Also stating this was not a scam or telemarketing and it's real. That's a red flag! Not going to call that because I'm just going to call the official Scotiabank number on the back of my cards. Sounds like a scam.
- Caller: Scotiabank
- Miss_Sweet1Woke up to a voicemail from this number which showed it originated in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
It was an automated female voice and it said, "This is Scotia Bank calling and this is not a sales call. We have an important message for Miss Xxxx Xxxxx regarding their account. Please contact Scotia Bank at 1-800-290-2654 and we stress the importance of speaking with you. To hear this message again please press star. Thank you. Goodbye."
I called ScotiaBank using their real number and was informed there was nothing on my account to say they had called or that there was a message that I needed to speak to them. IT IS A SCAM! - SandraThe call is legit about a possible security breach, but call them back using the 1-800 number on the back of the credit card. Scotiabank only uses 1-800 numbers. I got the automated voice mail yesterday. I called the 1-800 number on my card and i was informed that someone was trying to use my card to purchase tickets from Ticketmaster.
- Chelsi| 1 replythis is a real number, they called me earlier today to ask if i was logged onto my account as it was saying i was in the states buying plane tickets - and i was in fact buying tickets on my work computer which is linked in the states. This is not a scam
- Heinz57 replies to ChelsiPlease tell us who your bank is. Is it Scotiabank like everyone else here? Or are you just being a SHILL? Please share more information with us. Who is "they" ?
- DMLThis was a legit call for me. It was a Toronto number. They left me a voicemail about a charge I had disputed on my Scotiabank Visa and asked me to call the 1-800 number for dispute services, which I did.
