Sound like some foreigner wanting info about auto warranty expiring and wanted to know the make and model of car... Maybe a scam to get information to answer questions on Credit Reports??? Was told to take number off list and person kept saying, "but sir, about your warranty... but sir"

Yeah that's weird, I just got the same message on my phone.  I don't know what it is, but same thing happened with auto warranty expiring.
I'd be willing to bet its a scam.

They called me but I didn't pick up and they didn't leave a message.  Hopefully they got the hint.

This number called me at about 6:52 p.m. (CST) 19 Feb 2008. When I answered it, screen read "call ended".

Automated message stating "Your auto warranty is about to expire,
press 1 to speak to a representative, or press 2 to remove yourself
from the list."

Pressed 2, and called ended.

I couldn't hear the automated msg, so I went to an operator and asked him what this was about, and he hung up... very weird. def a scam

out of curiousity did you guys purchase a car recently? i live in the central new york area, maybe we can find a pattern?

Hi, I wrote earlier.  Just wanted to respond to Same Deal's question.  I haven't purchased a car in years.  I also live in central Virginia.  So there don't seem to be any patterns as far as those are concerned.

got a call from this number saying the stuff about a car warranty expiring.  when i talked to the guy he quickly asked me for my year make and model of my car, i said "i don't have a warranty on my car, why am i getting called?" he then said "thats not what i asked, whats the year make and model of your car?" i told him the same thing again.  then he said "well enjoy the next call," and hung up.
+442074222408 i'm guessing that +44 is a country code for int'l calls. i looked up +44 and the country is the UK, which is weird cuz the guy didnt have an accent.

oh yeah. how dumb do they think people are? i know i dont have a warranty on my car. freakin scams!

Nothing on the line when I called, no answer when I returned the call.

I suspect this is some seller from eBay who has sold CC information for "warranties" - a cellphone in my case.

same number and same thing.  They did not leave a msg.

They called me on my cell on Feb 19 at 8:38 MST. I heard that some incoming international calls can charge your account $10 a minute so I am really cautious with those kind of calls and didn't answer. No message on voice.

I got a call from +44-207-422-2408 at 8:03 PM on Feb 19, 2008 about my car warranty expiring. I got an automatted message to press 1 to speack to a person or to press2 to hang up. All of my cars are 2nd hand and almost 20 years old, so there is no waranty.

Same thing - call came in refused to answer - I do have an extended warranty expiring in about a month.  Maybe it started legit - but from the posts here I'm guessing it's not going to end that way.

Just got this call and thought - wow that is strange #. I have things listed on Craigslist here and figured it was a scam. None of our vehicles have warranties and they called an unlisted cell #. No message but called at 8:30pm on Feb. 19, 2008. I have recently purchased something off ebay using my CC. I will have to wath real close.

Got a call from this number at 8:38pm MST.  I ignored the call and received a voice mail immediately there after.  The recording was the end of an automated message that said "press 1 to speak to a representative, and press pound to disconnect."
