I got a call on my cell today. Caller id said 442-242-9618 but a recording said to call 1-844-953-8973 regarding anthem blue cross health plan.  Recording said both my first and last name which made it seem legitimate but when I called anthem blue cross number on the health card I was told it's probably a scam. They don't cold call like that unless you've called them and requested a call back.

I also, received a call on my cell from the same number, with the recording stating my name, telling me to call 1-844-953-8973 regarding ;my benefits.   I called the number and a recording stating they were Anthem, and for me to input the telephone number that i got their call from.   I hung up thinking it was a scam,  and reported it to Anthem on their website.

This is an update to my post on April 26. Today I got a call on my landline. The message was exactly the same and caller id said 442-242-9618 like before but the recording said  to call 1-844-953-8973 just like before. Makes me wonder if hackers are accessing medical records somehow. Even if anthem bc has good cyber security I wonder about individual medical offices. Some of us who move to different areas and change primary care doctors plus have medical conditions that require visits to a specialist have been to multiple medical offices and honestly my guess would be some of them are not really up on cyber security at all. I'm not saying our medical records are being hacked but I have to wonder...

Same experience as the ones mentioned above. Didn't answer, left a recorded voicemail to call 1-844-953-8973.

Got a call from 442-242-9618; didn't answer. Left robotic-sounding message: "This is Anthem Blue Cross calling for [my first and last name inserted]. We are trying to reach you again to share information about a benefit that can save you time and money. Please call us back tool free at 1-844-953-8973."

Now I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night, so I know fishy when I hear it. It's obviously a sales call from someone who has either bought or hacked into Anthem's customer database. Disturbing either way. And no, I don't need any additional "benefits."

I got a call from 442-242-9618 and asked me to call Anthem on 1-844-953-8973 top talk something about my policy. I thought it is a scam and hence searched on google and found this page. Not calling them back.
