- Toni| 1 replyIf you have a health insurance policy through United Health Care they have a service for house calls. BUT have outsourced to a company that at best is unscrupulous and annoyimg. I am dropping UHC as soon as I can because of this and other questionable practices. I'm shocked that AARP is involved with them. Block this number.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Annoyed| 2 repliesThese calls are constant/never ending. I do not want their house calls nor their Walmart gift cards. All we really need is to get no hassle about paying the legit medical bills. Would never agree to having a stranger come into my home to evaluate me. The doctor(s) do that. As another person stated, we are old -- not stupid. Contrary to popular belief, many of us do quite well managing our affairs and are not yet senile.

- laCalls and doesn't leave a message the majority of the time. Caller ID shows up today as "UNTDHEALTHCARE". United Healthcare (?). One day they did leave a message and said if you want to get your extra large house clothes to please call back this number and then for the hearing impaired to please call back a different number. Is this a joke or what?
- Caller: UNTDHEALTHCARE
- ElinorUnited Healthcare has several totally useless services. This is one of them. Housecalls is really idiotic. Why would I want someone I don't know coming to my house to decide whether my physician made the right call about my medication / treatments? I just put them on reject on my phone. They leave voicemails which I immediately delete.

- CWG40Nurse Practitioner Scheme
This appears to be to be basically an attempt to extract money out of Medicare/Medicaid by signing up those on these programs for still another unneeded service. That is, an attempt by insurance companies to increase their income be creating more services and thus more income for the insurance company. That’s the only purpose I can think of. Supposedly a nurse practitioner will be better at coding treatments than the regular doctor. This may be all quite legal.
Involves nurse practitioners but may involve other medical professionals as well.
This program is targeting the elderly. Basically trying to scare them into signing up for this service.
However, there is a lot of just plain ordinary cold-call scamming going on as well. Fishing expeditions trying to get information on Medicare patients.
If you have an insurance card, and you receive calls from people pushing home nurse practitioner visits, call the number on the back of the insurance card. Check the number out that is calling you.
I do have a nurse and a physical therapist who comes out to the house, every once in a while. But this as authorized in person to me by my primary care physician. It was not done by a cold call.
Absolutely do NOT agree to any sort of home care in the absence of a consultation with your own primary care physician.
Most people on Medicare (including myself) see a primary care physician once every three or four months for a general check up.
There is no need for a home care visit by a nurse practitioner in that kind of situation, unless recommended by the primary care physician.
But as I say, consult your primary care physician about any kind of home care.

He said they have to come to your home. I told him, No, they do not. I do not let people I don't know into my home. They keep calling and I keep ignoring them.
