I believe is a scam

Rcvd a text from this number. Allegedly a medical bill, link included. But I am not familiar with the “lab” and cannot find website. Scam!

Received a text message from this number regarding my bill from a recent Dr. appt. Link goes to athena health. Obviously a scam as I do not use Athena health, & haven't been to a Dr in several months

If the link goes to that company then how is it a scam?

I keep getting text messages regarding a recent visit to a minute clinic. I haven’t gone to a minute clinic in several years so I’m assuming it’s a scam

It’s a shell company or a look alike to the real company. It’s used to obtain your information so they can steal your identity. If you don’t know who is sending you a link search the company and pull up the official page. Do not click on suspicious links

Or it is the real Athena Health.  Based on what was posted in other threads actually doing some research it turned out that it was them.  It seems that they also bill for other providers as well.  They would need to know a lot more than your DOB to commit identity theft.

I recently received a text message from Northwest Medical Gr. saying that I will now get texts. It has no links but the typical YES or STOP to opt out type of thing so I just blocked the number.

Just got a txt from this number saying that a "health reminder" from my provider ( Oncology ). click on the line for more info. I do not have an oncology provide or deal with that hospital group. Real scam.

It's a scam, I called my clinic to see if I owed anything. They said no. It is a scam to get info from you.beware!!!

Because when you click on the link it opens EVERYTHING you have stored in your phone for them. Either you're involved (that's why you encourage it) or you're just really thick. Either way you go ahead and click on it all you want.

They've texted twice in 3 days now. Each text has a different link address.

The first:
"The balance for your recent appt with MC Diagnostic of IN is ready to view and pay: https://ahmsg.us/42anW94 Reply STOP to opt out."

The second:
"It's easy to take care of your balance for your recent appt with MC Diagnostic of IN. Visit https://ahmsg.us/4iL4A1b Reply STOP to opt out."

MC diagnostics is CVS minute clinic when you Google it. I've only ever used them once in my life for a virtual appt 4 months ago. I was made to pay for it up front when I scheduled because I didn't have insurance at the time. Same as the urgent care I visited later that day.

Thank you for calling me "thick" and telling me that I am involved Cassie.  Both of those links actually do go to Anthem.  They ask for your last name and DOB like any medical facitily does.  You see, unlike you, I have actually done my homework and not simply assumed that I know it all.  Did you know that all websites need to be registered to someone?  According to Whois.com which is one of the companies that keeps track of those websites this is where those websites lead:

A search of that company does not bring up that it is associated with CVS.
