Called here, rang thrice, no one there. Don't do business with this outfit.

This number has been a persistent caller this week.  Phoenix AZ caller id with an east valley area code.  Today I answered and the caller identified himself as John with American Police and Sheriff's Association.  I disconnected at this point.  BBB lists this outfit but gives it no rating, has no complaints, no reviews.  Two Charity rating services have never heard of them.  The organization does have a web site under the given name.  Highly likely this is an out-and-out scam.  BBB shows their address as a mailbox in Sacramento, CA.  Their own website shows address as a PO Box in Ste. Genevieve, MO.  Website also exhibits several other indicators that tend to indicate scam, eg, poor spelling and sentence structure.  Wherever they are, the previous poster indicates their phone number is linked to a Scottsdale vet hospital.  Call them back, and you get a recording in a very slow speaking female voice that never identifies them, but says they are too busy to answer.  Sure smells like a scam to me.  Even if legitimate, most actual charities hire solicitation companies to make the calls and collect the money.  Asking the solicitors how much of the money collected actually goes to the charity usually gives a reply of 10%.  I prefer 100% of my donation goes to the charity, and that no less than 75% is used for the stated purpose, so after researching the charity organization, I will donate directly to them via check in the mail.

I never answer these calls. The caller ID says "Out of Area" with the local number, so the number is fake since I live in the East Valley. They certainly do sound like a scam, and they've been calling me at least once a day. Time to block.

I continually see these same sorts of comments on numbers that call me.  who is paying these people and on what basis?
clearly cannot be on performance since no message is broadcast or person to person discussion occurs.  can they be getting paid
simply on  the basis of phone bills showing they made an outgoing call?

I got this call. I asked police about these types of scams. They don't call and ask for donations. Scam!

This is a scam the real number for the 24 hr emergency clinic in Scottsdale AZ is (480) 945-8484 They have great vets and don't cold call people.

Called many times March 2015, back again, three calls in two days. Have blocked them. NYAH!

I normally don't answer numbers I don't recognize, but when I googled the number it said it was a 24 hr vet in Scottsdale, I was curious so I answered. It was a recording about IRS debt and they could help me resolve it if I had more than $10,000 in debt. Press 1 to continue or press 9 to cancel, I just hung up the phone.

Add me to the list since they continually call my number. If they want to contact me, they can leave a message which they never do.

Now it's being used to run a student-loan modification scam.
