Robocall, claiming the IRS has been trying to contact me, and they are filing a lawsuit against me. Instructed me to call the same number back. Yeah, right! Phish somewhere else.

I got a call from this number. A man instructed me to make a payment to IRS immediately. Otherwise, a local police would come to my house and arrest me. They took "Cash Only" payment. They instructed me to go a bank and routed money to them.

I didn't follow their advices and I am still waiting for polices coming to take me to jail!!
Good news, no police comes to my house yet!!!

An IRS audit scam perpetrated by the lowest form of life, and the sad thing is that they will make life miserable for some honest victim. The bells toll for these thieves!

The IRS is trying to file a lawsuit against me and that I should call the same number back. Of course I never called the number back. I googled the number instead.

I had a call from 509-331-5111, a robot call that prompted me to call IRS on the same number regarding my taxes. I called back and a man with a possible Indian accent started to ask for my personal information. When I refused to give any information they said the police will arrest me within an hour at my home if don't pay back $5000 over the phone. Well I know nobody wants to owe the IRS but if you do, the IRS is professional in their demands, will not threaten to arrest on first contact and will NOT ask for personal information such your social security number on the phone. It has been an hour no police YET and I bet no police will show up in the NEXT ten years to arrest me for the IRS.

I received the same message from this number and when I returned the call I asked who this is and only understood the word, "IRS".  It wasn't believable at all.  I woman with a strong accent spoke to me and a man who sounded Chinese was speaking in the background.   Remember that the IRS would send a letter instructing you to call an 800 IRS number if there was a real IRS issue involved.

The IRS does not call ANYONE and ask them to pay. An IRS agent posted I believe right here on 800notes and explained as much and while the IRS and our Tax Code are not my favorite entities/subjects, I tip my hat to the agent who posted this in an effort to help folks out.
The agent went on further to explain a tax payer would likely receive a notice of a due amount via written notice in the mail with instructions on how and where to pay by what time and further contact info. if more info. was needed to comply.

Frankly, we need more IRS folks willing to step forward OUTSIDE their FAT 9 to 5 jobs and fricking HELP tax payers. I feel sorry for the "Grandma Smith's" of the world who are travelling on their altzheimers journey who get calls like this, like my Mother who supposedly won the Nigerian Lottery not once, but twice!

IF YOU OWE ANYONE (government at any/all levels), money, YOU WILL GET A NOTICE in the mail.

Got a call from this number claiming to be the IRS and how they are filling lawsuit against me in a horribly electronic voice. I did not answer the call, they left a message and I never called them back. Clearly a scam.

I received the same call but I didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voice mail. Freaked me out because I recently received a letter from IRS Advising me a mistake was made & I owed them money. I called the number and a gentleman answered, started asking for personal information. I told them they called me, he acted like he was checking out my telephone number which is I called from my cell not home he conveniently hung up on me. They wouldn't even answer telephone professionally, no matter that some people panic that they fall for this scam.
