Got a call from this telemarketer claiming a fund raising for police. Put to block list.

It's the "Fraternal Order of Police" robot calling from yet another number. Not sure, but I am beginning to suspect that this is a scam that probably results in some people giving out their credit card numbers. I have received the same phone call with the same robotic voice (which sounds very real until you ask it to answer a simple math problem) from no less than 12 different numbers from various area codes. Probably similar to the Rachael from Card Services scam that we are all aware of.

I just got my call. Now they are blocked! I wouldn't give to any agency other than my local police anyway! That way I know it goes back into my community. It's just freaky how these fruit bats have our personal info. Legit non profits have toll free # with a name that comes up, not "Oakland". Plus I don't like the Raiders!

Got a call, no message, from this number but it ends in a 3 ( 510-214-8093 ).  Since I see the same number ending in a 2 and a 4, both from the Fraternal Order of Police I can only assume that my call is the same.

Called and left no message.  We are on the Do Not Call List.

Called my home phone at 10:23AM. I did not answer when I saw  Oakland   CA in place of a name or business listed on caller ID. They left no message. I will never give any money to anyone who can not list proper information for the Caller ID to see and what makes them think I would donate to a fraternal police organization that is more than 500 mules from my home?

The "Fraternal Order of Police" is a scam! The caller sounds very polished and convincing and the sales [***] is that their organization seeks donations for the family of fallen police officers. THEY ARE NOT A LEGITIMATE PUBLIC SAFETY ORGANIZATION, BE IT FIRE OR POLICE! THEY ARE SCAMMERS! Legitimate Public Safety organizations will NEVER call and solicit donations. This particular scammer is like clock work, this is the time of year he/they start there campaign.

The "Fraternal Order of Police" has now called me on 510-214-8092, 510-214-8093, 510-214-8094, 510-214-8095 and
510-214-8096.

Claimed to be Fraternal Order of Police. I said I give to another charity, he pushed very hard for $15, and then $10. When I questioned why the call would be coming from Oakland he said he "understood completely" and that maybe I could help them on the next drive and hung up. I blocked the number.

Call me in Spanish  salling they are the us postal and have package for me wanted to know if some body is going to be at the house at certain hour when we told them there is always so body home they hung the phone

These [***] call me all the time and I tell them to STOP calling me as I'm on the DND list.  But alas, they keep calling me.

Just received call from this number. Let it go to answering machine. They did not leave a message. Caller ID was "VOIP Caller".  From what others posted it sounds like a call I received a while ago asking for a donation for fallen police officers. The person had an authoritive sounding voice and kept saying "I understand" when I told him we couldn't donate. Sorry to see they're back at it. Thanks to everyone who posted.

Yes any calls for fund raising for police is a scam, I received information from an officer stating they do not fund raise by phone, if you wish to donate contact your local pd or sheriff's union they will be more than happy to give you the correct information to their site, and fire fighters only due the fill the boot once a year and can be found on their website on locations.

Called my google hangout number. After I missed their call, I replied with my real phone number. I asked who is this and The woman who answered didn’t tell me because “she needs my number to pull out from the system”  I told her my virtual phone number which they called and asked them  “you don’t know who you are? ”  she replied they are doing a newspaper subscription blah blah, I asked to put me on DNC
