I received a call from this number. called it back and it says "no longer in service."

This is from the Texas Education Agency. It is a out going number only. You have to call a different number to get back to this person.

This phone number is associated with all State of Texas office complexes in the downtown area including the Capitol and all statewide offices. None of the office numbers will reflect on caller id other than 512-427-9057.

I also called the number back and it says it is no longer in service.  Are these telemarkters?

I received a call from this number also. It rang once and hung up. I wasn't able to call it back.

This same number has called my cell phone 3 or 4 times in the last 2 days and hangs up after 10 seconds. Cannot call back.

This number called me on my cell phone.  I called from a land line and a disconnected message is what I received.  I am just curious as to why this number would call different people.

I just missed a call from this number today and, as others have mentioned, it cannot be dialed back. After reading your responses I think it may be one of those recorded political messages, hence the no return call feature.

I have received a call from this number, after reading each report on this website. I believe it is a number used randomly by Texas State Agencies. When I got the call it was from the Texas Medical Board.

I received a call from 512-427-9057. I answered on the second ring. No one said anything. I kept saying hello but got no response. I too called back and got the disconnected number routine.

So did I today 5-20-08?

I think I have figured this out.  I got a call this morning from this same number.  I called back and got a recording that said that the number was disconnected.  Several people seem to know who called from this number.  All are from Austin or are a Texas government business.  I was  expecting a call from the Texas Board of Licensing.  So this must be a government number used for outgoing calls only.

Yes, this is a generic number for government offices that belong to the state of Texas. Why they all use this same number is beyond me. The number I had to call to get TWC to call me back is an 800 #. I then left a message on their recorder for someone to call back. So if you are expecting a call from the Texas state government for anything, go ahead an answer. If you aren't expecting a call, then let the machine get it.

It was the Texas veterans Land Board for me. I am assuming it covers all state office from the same PBX phone switch.

It is TEA. Texas Education Agency. If you call the 800 number, this is the number they call you back on.

If anyone calls u from this no. DO NOT give out any info. It might be fraud!!  See my comments on what happened.


I got a call from this # and the lady on the ph did not id herself. She was whispering and trying to get info from me in ref to a complaint I filed with the Texas Insurance Commissioner's Office re a w/c claim.  When I asked her to speak up she did not, the second time I asked her she said never mind and stated she would figure it out herself and then hung up on me.  I have caller ID,the number came across & unk. name.  After she hung up on me I called number back & get recording that number had been disconnected.  
I called operator who referred me to another dept and they have no info on this ph number and state that there is no listing for this no.
