- Austin, TX| 3 repliesJerk calls repeatedly... from 1 to 20 minute intervals one or two nights weekly. Six calls a night sometimes. Caller ID says "unknown". Hangs up immediately when voice mail answers; never leaves a message. Luckily, Sunrocket VOIP is set to silence the ringer for all "Unknown" callers. This jerk's calls still show up on the weekly call log though so I get the last laugh. WooHoo! Gee, I love Sunrocket... and for just $9.95/month!.
- Caller: none
- Lisa replies to Austin, TXI get calls from this number too, and the same exact thing happens to me. I know this sounds sad but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.
- Austin, TXGot called a few times from this number. I never picked up, no message left.
- LOL !I researched 512-485-6362 on several reverse phone directories. The number is located in Austin, Texas. Turns out that 512-485-6362 is a so-called "collections center" for Time Warner Communications better known as Time Warner Cable. These are not real TWC employees. They are really what is called "vultures". (That is the actual terminology used within the collections business.) They simply buy the disputed debts from TWC. TWC sells the debts that they can't easily collect themselves.(Vultures usually pay only five or ten cents on the dollar.) The vultures get to keep anything that they are able to collect so they will harass and pester you to get anything they can. In my case they are after $43.19 that TWC billed my deceased mother four months after I called to disconnect. They were in fact notified of her terminal status 45 days BEFORE she died. They just refuse to acknowledge the disconnect request be cause SHE didn't call it in instead of me. Now these vultures have been calling me 6-10 times every day. Its been seven months now. I've set Sunrocket VOIP service to ignore all "unknown"callers. Cool. It doesn't even ring here when they call but I laugh like hell every time I check the 'blocked caller' log and see these jerks wasting their time!

- Austin, TX replies to Austin, TX| 1 replyI called the number back and it has a recording staying it's timewarner's marketing dept. You can leave a message and have your number removed.
- o.0| 1 replyWow. I'm really glad I found this page. I googled a phone number that called me a few minutes ago and didn't actually expect anything to popup. Thanks guys. Didn't pop up as unknown, or any name, just the number.
- Johnrandomly calls me. I never answer they never leave a message.
- mecalled 8/21/08 @ 6:55 PM
- KristenCalled twice on 9/4/08 at 11:02AM and 2:06PM. I didn't pick up because I didn't know who it was. Good to know about this though... It was on my cell phone so it just showed up as the number...
- dmd replies to o.0interesting as my id says - TV Cable. If they are collecting something it can't be a bad debt. We've never been late for a payment to TWC here in Austin in the 26 years we've lived here. There has to be some other scam to it.
- mrs. moralessame thing. Time Warner called but didn't leave a message. When I called back, it gave me the option to have my name taken off of their calling list, so I left my name and # and put in my request. However, they said it could take up to 30 days for the process.
- SteffanieThis is Time Warner Austin TX and they also just call to market to you. They keep calling my unpublished cell phone because that is the number they received when I ordered cable from them. They call constantly and leave no message. Just annoying and no way to treat current customers.
- Caller: Time Warner
- Call type: Telemarketer
- tomIt was kind of you guys to leave the details on this phone number. I tried calling back to have myself removed (I've never been late either, it's just more marketing) but could not.... the automated reply, after telling me that I could have my number removed, was "I'm sorry, that mailbox is full".... so still no resolution to their repeated calls.
- Caller: Time Warner Company
- Laura replies to Austin, TXI did call and leave a message to be removed from the list on November 5th. Since then they have called a minimum of 18 times. My caller ID was full so it dropped off some of the numbers--they may have called more times than that.
- DThey called me once and it was because I was late on my bill...I guess when I was paying my bill on time, I never got the call. Who knew!
- Caller: Time Warner
- aThey called repeatedly for a while, but never answered because I didn't know the number. I finally answered one time and it was Timer Warner asking me if I have ever considered their digital telephone service, I'm a customer for other stuff. I said no, I'm not interested and the phone call was over. Took less than 30 seconds. It's been a week and they haven't called back.
- Caller: Time Warner
- NewbieI got a call from this number, too, but same thing: no msg. I called back, got an auto msg telling me the voicemail was full, then hit 0 for assistance. I got voicemail for Ilene Edwards and left a msg. I only called bc we haven't service for more than 5 weeks, and they actually owe us money on a miscommunication over a cable modem sent to us through one of their promotions marketers. I'll answer the next call from Ilene Edwards.
- Caller: Time Warner Cable
- FistcarThese jerks are calling me too. No one is ever on the phone. If I leave the line open there is nothing but silence for minutes. Other times they call and hang up right away. I fall for it every time because it is on my business cell, and I need to answer the calls.
If it is Time Warner marketing, I doubt the company is actually TW. More likely it is a sub-contractor. I figure they are making "calls" and charging TW for nothing.
If it keeps happening call TW to cancel your plan and give the reason that you keep getting stupid calls from them. If you have any early cancellation fees, tell them you don't care about the fees and want to cancel because of the annoyance. Tell them your getting satellite, or whatever. They want to fix your problems when you want to stop their service.
Furthermore, if/when you have completed business with them and ask to not be on their call list, when they call file a complaint:

A few fines from Uncle Same will change their tune. - newaustin, txThis number has starting calling me and it is increasing in frequency! I just got 4 calls in the past couple of hours. I don't answer and they just hang up. I have Verizon. They set up a blocked caller status. The block lasts 90 days. I'm glad I found this post!
- @Austin, TXI got several calls from this number within the last week with no messages left on my cell. I called the number back and the line identified itself as a Time Warner Cable outbound calling center and I hung up. I knew that my TWC internet promotional period had just ended, so I assumed they were wanting to sell me additional or bundled services. Today I was able to answer when a call came from this number and the man (sounding unusually unprofessional, not that I'm a stickler for that; at least he could speak English) said he was making a courtesy call from TWC. He asked how my service was (just fine) and asked if I'd heard of Road Runny Turbo. I said yep, I had had it before at a previous location but that it was too expensive. He said how about we give it to you for $4.95 extra (regularly priced at $15 or 20 over my current internet deal if memory serves me because I had investigated it recently). I asked how long it would only be $4.95 and he said indefinitely. So I said sure, sounds good, sign me up. He said to wait about 45 minutes, then reset my modem. He asked me if I would be home in the next 45 minutes. I said yes, me and my 5 buddies were having a party (this part was BS, but my mental antenna was starting to quiver here). He said okay, great, thanks, bye.
Afterward I started feeling a little skiddish about the whole thing so I googled the phone number and found this page. I figured people often overreact to strange incoming phone calls but I decided I better call TWC directly to see if the call was legit. I called them and they said Road Runner Turbo HAD just been added to my account, but that I would be charged $9.99 for the extra service. I said "no no no" and demanded they remove it. The rep said he had never heard of RR Turbo for only $4.95. I know $5 ain't much of a difference, but the guy told me it would be $4.95, and bold faced lying to "make a sale" is just not cool. The TWC agent removed it from my account. I asked if there was any way to check who had just called me or accessed my account in their systems, and the rep said no, not that he was aware of. I was sure I could get a little further if I asked for a supervisor, but I didn't feel like bothering. I told him thanks and I hung up.
So, for me it wasn't a collector, and it wasn't "quite" a scammer, but it was pretty darn close. Complaining to a DO NOT CALL list won't stop this call because it's considered legitimate contact from a company you're probably doing business with (assuming you are) but you can probably tell TWC directly not to ever call you, or better yet, change your phone number with them to a bad/nonexistant one.- Caller: Time Warner Cable
