Lawyers office

Something to consider--- is it really a lawyers office or a debt collector who is a liar?  It is illegal to claim that if they are not attorneys.

these people call and leave message either saying they are suing me or they are coming to serve me papers at work but of course they never say who they are or what I am "being sued" fir

I have the same phone calls !  did you found more about this? are iegsll to make this phone calls?

I blocked my caller ID and called the number; it immediately answered with a message stating they do not take calls from blocked numbers. Sneaky.

A quick search of the company name, JVN Group, INC., shows they are a legit collection agency. While I don't understand your question due to the typo, I think you are trying to ask if it is legal to make these calls. If so, yes, it is. But no to the threatening.

The address they have listed for Austin, TX is legit.

If they're calling and threatening you, file a complaint. That is unacceptable, and definitely no way to get someone to pay their debts. Best of luck to you.

Seeing as how I can't edit my post, I take the above statement back. I checked their URL; the address used to contact their tech person is a hotel. I'm familiar with this location. They are not listed in the TX State Debt Collectors database. However, if you call 512-827-3690, Mark Alvarez WILL answer. Btw, he's not actually a lawyer either. There is a lawyer of that same name in Utah. It may be him, as you don't need to pass the bar to move from certain states to another, but doubtful, as the Utah lawyer works mostly with immigration.

My brother called me and told me a Mike Loveland had called and wanted me to call him. Before I could call him I got a call from Mark Alvarez informing me I owed a debt in excess of $1000.00 I was familiar w/a problem I have been having w/ a bank (the one they mentioned) But I knew the amount was nowhere near a $1000.00. When I asked where the extra debt came from he said it was from court costs , filing fees and money to have the Sherif serve me. He further told me , when I asked, what the original debt was he told me he didn't have that information!! I mean if the "extra" amounts come from fees etc that his company generated he must know the bottom line. What a liar and a bully.
