Same exact letter received today. Such a scam!

Received a letter by mail today 8/26/2021. Claiming the same thing. Gave email and phone numbers. Says their location is Hong Kong. I did look up the name and found what seemed to be a legit website. Letter claims the client worked at energy company and died 9 years ago. Had no one to claim it so because we had same last name and nationality, they would help me claim it. 45% to me 45% to them and 10% of any charity of my choosing. Sent an email.... should be interesting

Got the same faxed letter with $11,030.900. Same story auto crash 9 years ago. Boy are these guys idiots.

Easy. There will be all sorts of "fees", "bribes", etc that will have to be paid up front before the imaginary money is sent.  Very well known scam and has been around for decades.

I got this letter yesterday from the same guy. Now, if you look at the family name they use, it si not the same police as the rest of the letter, which shows it is a prefabricated letter where they just add any family name after Mr. Thomas to find someone ready to lose some money to them.
