Got a call from Seth Jacobs.  Said he was calling for University of Rochester and would not give me any information about what the call was pertaining to.  I asked him for specifics and he just talked over me insising that he could only speak with the owner.  I told him I would need a phone number for the owner to return the call - he hung up.

Took the time to Goole them
These people aparently call business leaders trying to convince them to opt into their publication.  Their represtative, Brooke White, just called asking me to "renew our membership" in their directory for the city of Pittsburgh.  Her call back number was 412-232-0702.  She said she was calling for the City of Pittsburgh.

Calling as a representative of a city we work with. She is rude, only asks for our owner and will hang up when she can't get him.  She is calling regularly.

Guy with heavy NYC/Brooklyn accent asking for president of my company.  This is my cell phone number, don't know how he got ahold of this particular number.  Identified himself from UNLV as we are a Nevada corporation.  I asked why he was calling from 516 area code, upon which he hung up.

Got serveral calls over a month period from a Jay Butler, he says he's from Columbia University and asks for the President of our company. He will never leave any info and gets rude if you ask him questions. I could tell from his 516 number (which he claims is his cell phone) and his unavailable name, that he was not from Columbia University.

Same story as everyone else.  We're in Texas so he said he was with University of Texas and wanted to speak to the owner.  I'd read these notes from past calls though, told him the owner was an Aggie fan and hung up.

Same type of fake phone call looking for the name of our company president.  I always refer these types of callers to our company website, saying they can find the information there... which they can - most call center employees don't have internet access though.  Too bad : )

Just received a call asking for the President of our company. Asked who was calling and Told Mike Greco w/ Fort Sill. Our president wasn't available and asked if I could put him in his vm and he said oh no. He then asked what state he was calling and said that he's from Lawton Ok. Referred him to his local rep in OK since he was calling WI. He then okay and hung up.

516-833-1900 came in as "unknown" on our Corp. caller ID. Later, after it made the loops through voicemail, it returned and I was able to see the # 516-833-1900.  It was an insistant salesperson named Melissa who would not give her call back number upon asking several times. I called our corp security to trace the call and she hung up. Only to call back later and yell, talk over me, and scream as to why i wasn't giving her company information. I did research and was only able to find the # belongs in NY.

Called and said his name was Justin and wanted to talk to sales rep for the University of Minnesota account. When I asked him what department from the U of M he was calling from, he backtracked and said that he wasn't part of any department per se and thats when I forwarded it to my supervisor to deal with. We have been getting calls as well claiming for informaiton on the University of Pittsburgh account too.

Katie Wiseman called twice last week and again today asking for information on the manager.  Last week when I asked who was asking, each day it was a different school from NJ "updating" information.  She is calling from different phone #s and even making it unavailable.  She must not realize she's getting the same person at our company because she keeps giving her name and I told her today to quit calling.  The two times I asked her what the information was for, she would just hang up
