The Cambridge Women and Minority-owned Business Directory lists women and minority-owned businesses and contains a resource guide listing other small business support services. Listings are updated on a quarterly basis.

The Directory serves as a marketing and networking tool connecting minority and women-owned businesses with large and small companies and institutions looking for opportunities to work with this specific business community

Keeps calling, says we filled someting out online. Won't stop calling even though we have requested them to.

Sleazy company...they cloak their caller-ID when they call you. Last time they called it said Restricted.
I would never deal with a company that hides their phone number.
They also hide their domain registry.

Company name is Worldwide Who's Who

When I called them back, they have an IVR which reports them to be "Who's Who Publishers".  I pressed 5 for "other inquiries".  I got a live person.  I asked them to remove my phone number.  They said it would be no problem.  They asked me my name.  I refused to give it to them.  I don't want to give them more information than they already have... I was only willing to give them my phone number.  They told me that they didn't have ti in their system and that there was nothing that they could do without my name.

They suggested that my number might have come to them through Linked-In.  I am a member of Linked-In, so that may be legitimate.  But they would not remove my number, regardless of their legal obligation to do so.

Got a call, donno who this is!

Got a call from a Jennifer saying that they received my application and needed to do a short phone interview. I am also on Linked-IN and work with REO ASSET companies and banks so phone interview sounded legit .I
It is awfully sleazy to use that line with me due to the fact that I work so hard for years to connect with some of these banks for interview and then get a scam call like that. So so.disappointing! Glad I checked out the name first. Geese! :-(

harrassment.  calling my mobile 20 times already today. no message.

I got a call and even a page to my office with name. I usually check website first and see who is this?
Some of the iPhone app with phone dial free. and display number are different.

I was called at 10:53 a.m. by 'unknown', then again at 10:57 a.m. with the 516-833-8440 number showing, 2 calls within a minute. Then a 'blocked' call at 10:58. Then another 'unknown' call at 11:38.

I was in a meeting and couldn't answer the first called. I wouldn't have called back to the number, it was from New York and they left no message. But when another 'unknown' came in, I thought it might be my dad (he has his cell set to show 'unknown'). So I answered.

They got my name through a misleading ad placed on LinkedIn. The tried to get me into their Worldwide Who's Who directory. The prices were given with a hard sell as follows:
-- $700 (+199 induction fee), Platinum, lifetime membership (with 2 airfare tickets to more than 40 places)
-- $580 (+199 induction fee), Gold, 5-yr membership (with 2 the airfare tickets)
-- $399 (+199 induction fee), 3-yr membership (with 2 the airfare tickets)
-- $199 (waived induction fee), 1-yr membership (with 2 the airfare tickets)

I indicated that I could not and would not commit to anything immediately, as I always discuss unbudgeted purchases with him before we commit to anything. I said I might be interested, if he agreed. She reluctantly quit with the sales pitch and gave her name and number: 1-516-833-8440, ext. 1220, name was Mindy.

The search I did on this company indicates that while it is not a scam in the technical sense, it is not a company that is held in the regard it claims. Very high pressure sales, and they don't quit calling you. They want your money and promise recognition, press releases, etc., but paying for thier service will not give you these things. Buyer beware!!!

tried to get my credit card and went back and worth about if this was real you would send me confirmation and let me get back to you after I look into it. Absolutly refused and on the other line my accounts department googled it and saw it was a scam I told the lady I was speaking to and hung up

Who's Who Registry. I've told them many times I'm not interested in being inducted into their "hall of fame".

I bought into the scam and gave my credit card because of the hard sell.  Within 15 minutes after the call, I saw online that they did not follow through on what they offered.  I called back four times within half and hour and spoke to two marketers both who said it was too late to cancel.  My credit card company said it wasn't fraud as I had given them my credit card number voluntarily.  So I'm out the money.  I will dispute the amount tomorrow when it appears on my statement, but others have said it is unlikely that I will get a refund as Worldwide Who's Who is saying they already provided the service somehow within half an hour of getting my credit card number?

They called me 5 times today!

If you gave your credit card and want to sue, you will be in trouble as Worldwide Who's Who lists themselves as a New York corporation which is false.  Their website says:  Worldwide Who's Who Publishing, Inc.
Headquarters, 445 Westbury Boulevard, Hempstead, NY 11550, BUT they cannot be found on the New York corporations website as a corporation.  It is "illegal" to call yourself a corporation when you are not.  Instead, the New York department of corporations lists: WORLDWIDE WHO'S WHO, LLC, 498 REXCORP PLAZA
UNIONDALE, NEW YORK, 11556.  Also, the FTC mandates that telemarketers tell you explicitly if they do not accept cancellations or refunds.  Also, in California the consumerwiki.dca.ca.gov there is a telemarketing law that states "the seller must inform the consumer that the purchase can be rescinded within 3 days and explain how to cancel the order."

Worldwide Who's Who is definitely committing fraud by these actions.

who the [***] bothers me in my nap I just called local police in New york to unmask the scammers in the usa. in canada we don't want nothing to do with drug attics from the usa that scam people from canada

Do you have the info where and how to rescind within 3 days or how to get it...as they do not answer back and the email addresses they give come back.  

If you have anymore info on how to stop them from frauding others..I would appreicate it.

I got a call from this number with all the membership options etc.  
I thought because the info was on Linkedin that it was reputable.
I have sense looked at all the comments and realize that it is a fraud and scam.
Maybe someone should start a class action against both Linkedin for allowing them to advertise on their sight and this company for scaming so many people.

Really pushy. I had to be interviewed. Caller could not specify how Worldwide Who's Who could benifit my business only repeating how many menbers they have. I never heard of them but saw them on Linkedin.
