Unknown caller from toxic area code scam-wise.  Didn't answer, called this number from untraceable private line and got recorded message "this is a non-working number in the state of Michigan".  Telemarketing scum...

517 657 6800 says state of Mich but when you call back its a non working number

This is a State of Michigan number.  I was called from this number for a Job Interview.  It is not a telemarketer but it is blocked for anyone trying to call it back.

I had trouble with the DHS site.  But finally got my application in.  A few minutes after fixing my application, I got a call from this number.  I am guessing they were calling back about either the site problems, or questions about my application.

That is correct.  This is a State of Michigan phone number and they call from this number when checking on references or job applications.  It is a generic number that is used for caller ID's.

I work for the State of Michigan and this is the Generic Number they use.  517 335-0002 is another number that is used for the State of Michigan.

I just got the call twice, both times they said it was department of corrections looking for aubry.  I ask the I Identify themselves and the said they dont have to because they are from department of corrections.

They didn't leave a message, will they call back since I couldn't answer their call?

The first time they called, just the phone number appeared. The second time, the same number was registered to The State of Michigan. If they already dialed, why the beans don't they leave a message? 😒

Why would they block the number for return calls  if it is a legitimate attempt to call anyone from the State of Michigan, Tim?
I mean, they already invested time on calling, so it would make sense to leave a message about the nature of the call, or HAVE A WORKING NUMBER TO CALL BACK, right?

This number called someone I know and asked them for my phone number & address.

We REPEATEDLY receive phone calls from this number and no one is on the other end. We are a business.
Please have them stop calling us. Thank you,

Wouldn't you think if it were a valid call from either of those entities they would 1, identify themselves on the CID and 2, leave a message?

I would predict its from a person spoofing the State of Michigan's number. Scammers, debt collectors and telemarketers have been doing that for a long time now to trick people into answering the call.

I received a call on presidents day. At 8:23 am. I call back non working number for the state of Michigan.

No voicemail message. Called back.
"You have reached a non-working number in the State of Michigan."

I just got a call from this number, stating she was from state of Michigan Unemployment and needed to verify that I was eligible for unemployment and that they possibly could raise my weekly amount, as soon as I said I was not on unemployment she hung up.
